AMAZING resilience shown by Georgia,Julie,Iris, and V. So pleased you had a memorable ride in this horrible weather. A last minute emergency with Teddy the princess who decided the best way to avoid a Xmas eve hack was to have a colic episode meant I missed them with the fizz and pies. I’m so sorry ladies. You all looked mega. SO impressed you all got out. Thanks for taking such excellent photos Georgia.

XMAS EVE HACK.

Hi all. We’re a touch concerned about the weather tomorrow. It’s forecast to be blustery and rainy but maybe a bit less than today.
Originally we had 15 saying they wanted to attend. I’m happy to show up with mince pies and fizz regardless of the weather. But if I have a horse with me or not will depend on the weather. Teddy is not best in the wind and most of us know he isn’t waterproof. I’ll be able to confirm in the morning if we will be there or not.
So for those hardy soles who want to hack whatever the weather then please do still come down. Do be aware though that you may be in the minority. Festive dress still welcome. And prizes awarded.

We'd like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Fun and Games Pony Picnic day last Friday!!! 💜

To start us off, On'Tops and RDA riders took part in the RDA 'Countryside Challenge' obstacle course - a great chance for members of both groups to share an arena and test out their countryside riding skills together. 🐴

Following the RDA's 'Countryside Challenge' showcase, we enjoyed some adrenaline-fuelled mounted games, with hot races to the finish line and impressive Gymkhana skills on display, giving some of our riders flashbacks to their pony club days! 🚩

When having a breather from the games, riders and grooms unleashed their pony-painting creativity and had a go at decorating our (very patient) equine models. 🎨

After rounds of a challenging Handy Pony class with an exciting 'jump off' for the best time, points were totted up from the whole day's activities and placings awarded to our competitors. Well done to everyone who had a go and took part! 🏵

Special congratulations go to Lauren who took first prize, and did it all ba****ck to boot! 🏆

With thanks to a whopping 12 entries and the generosity from on-foot spectators, proceeds from the day came to £56, which we are delighted to be able to donate to the Hebden Bridge RDA to support their fantastic work in our community. 💰

We are very lucky to have access to this beautiful hillside and our equine companions, and the inspiring commitment of the team of RDA volunteers at Slack Bottom means their riders can also benefit from riding in this amazing place. "It's what you CAN do that counts!" 🌈

Hi all. The new delight has asked us to pass on to our members that if we plan to make use of the pub car park for horse related activities could we please ensure we leave the car park as we find it. Also if we could ask permission ahead of making arrangements to load there they would really appreciate that.

Burghley horse trials info. Saturday 2nd September. Cross country day.

If you're thinking of going but worried about cost of bringing the kids along.
We are considering a larger bus this year that would allow us to make use of the free child’s places for under 12s. Last year we only had a 16 seater and as we had to buy 16 adult price tickets to get the ticket price discount we weren’t able to offer a reduction for children.
This year if we are able to take a larger bus we may be able to take advantage of the kids under 12 go free tickets and there would just be their bus journey to pay for.
If your thinking of bringing any under 12s along then please do let us know. Of course all children must be accompanied by an adult.
We will have more info on bus prices in thr coming days and will then be able to make better predictions on final trip prices.

Hi all.
Quick post about Burghley. We started to look into bigger coaches to see what diff the price makes and it’s quite a big difference actually.
So far we have only had one quote back but if we could push the numbers up to 24 plus then the price starts to come down a lot.
We would be interested in gauging numbers interested in this years trip so we can get some accurate figures together.
Could you possibly comment below if you think you would like to go this year? The date is Saturday 2nd September for cross country day.
We’re hoping to keep costs similar to last year, if we can increase uptake this cost may come down some as we can utilise a bigger bus.
It was such an amazing day last year with such great weather and loads of laughs. the shopping was incredible and the jumping blew our minds.
Please mention to friends that may be keen to come too. Non members welcome of course.
