Bohol Animal Rescue & Kindness - BARK, INC is one of my favorite rescues on this planet.

Located on the island of Bohol in the Philippines, this rescue relies HEAVILY on tourist donations - with that said, since March 2020 they have been struggling. The ADDED amount of dogs needing their help along with NO Tourists able to visit the island and sponsor... Every little bit helps!

So this year BG PhoDography - Pet Photography is donating a large portion of the profits to this amazing rescue.

Great info on Dwarfism in GSDs!

HALLO! We are back! Sorry for the hiatus, lots of things in the works from fundraisers, Tall Tail Sessions getting finalized, multiple galleries being finishes and given to clients, & art being ordered and delivered!

BUT I KNOW HOW MUCH A CUTE DOGGO FACE can lift our spirits. SO... I give you ROCKET!

Rocket is a Dwarf German Shepherd that was rescued by Last Chance at Life All Breed Animal rescue and then adopted by Karrissa Armstrong 🧡

They are currently living their best life in Texas and we are happy to report HIS HAIR IS ACTUALLY COMING IN!!! This is not a "designer dog" but a genetic condition just like in humans.

In German Shepherds this is a life limiting gene is many different ways. Besides the ability to NOT grow to full size because of a pituitary gland issue, most Dwarf GSDs have huge problems with growing their coat and end up bald / patchy.
This is because their adult coats tend not come in or do sparsely. Rocket got very luck to have a mama who did EVERYthing she could help grow what adult hair he could!

Also, with their inability to grow to full size a lot of their growth plates do not fully develop along with many other bones. This can cause issues with the spine --- a lot of which leads to earlier passing of the dog.

MOST of these dogs found with Dwarfism is because of puppy mills or Backyard breeders.

ROCKET is one of the lucky ones to make it safely from that situation into the loving hands of someone who does EVERYTHING needed to keep him safe and happy.

📌Un motivo más para esterilizar a tu mascota a temprana edad.

¿Sabes que es piometra❓

La piometra es una infección del útero que puede producirse en perras y gatas, y provoca que el útero de tu mascota se llena de pus. En general, se reconoce que la progesterona y el estrógeno y sus receptores desempeñan un papel en el desarrollo de la piometra; sin embargo, la infección se activa por un componente bacteriano.

Las influencias hormonales cíclicas de las perras y las gatas permiten que el útero presente cambios que serán aceptables para la fertilización de un embrión. Si se introducen bacterias en el útero en un determinado momento durante el ciclo, la regulación hormonal del útero permite que comience la infección y se vuelve potencialmente mortal.

Los signos clínicos más habituales en perras y gatas son:

⚠️letargo
⚠️depresión
⚠️anorexia
⚠️excesivo consumo de agua
⚠️micción excesiva
⚠️membranas mucosas pálidas
⚠️secreción vaginal sanguinolenta

Con menos frecuencia vómitos, diarrea, pérdida de peso, distensión abdominal y ojos inflamados. Algunas mascotas posiblemente no tengan ningún signo clínico además de la secreción vaginal purulenta.
La mayor parte de las perras y gatas esterilizadas en una etapa temprana de la vida no desarrollarán piometra.

Pyometra is a disease of the uterus that is 100% preventable through spaying your female dogs and cats! Every time your intact female pet goes through a heat cycle, her chance of contracting this DEADLY disease increases! Pyometra causes the uterus to become so painfully enlarged that the animal can barely walk!

Spay and neuter your pets, it could save their lives!

I love Denver. I have dear friends in Denver and it’s one of my favorite places to visit, in large part because they’ve typically cultivated a progressive, inclusive way of living.
However, after vetoed a monumental step forward, towards inclusiveness and welcoming all breeds, my family cannot and will not support Denver.
Pure and simple, this is racism towards dogs! No other dog, in the history of dogs, has been more let down by people, so much so that certain communities are willing to resort to archaic prejudice and discrimination, which are nothing more than terrible human flaws we’ve been trying to eradicate from our culture for 100 years. “Eventually we have to accept full and total responsibility for our actions, everything we have done and not done”, which has contributed to where we find ourselves now. This is uneducated blame at its worst and banning a breed will only serve to drive people apart because we have given cultural permission to judge a life based on its looks or genetic make up, rather than its unique personal energy and spirit.
I am lucky my liver failed in Bakersfield, California and not Denver, Colorado, because If I were in Denver the very being who saved my life would have been illegal and considered a menace to society.
UNFATHOMABLE!

In a few weeks these two will start to officially look for their furever homes! 🤯 to think we had them since 8 days old.

There will be an adoption fee that includes all puppy shots and rabies!

These little stinky puppies are 4 weeks old in this photo! 😭 SO MUCH CUTENESS! They are now 7 weeks old and growing like weeds! 🌱 This is Dennis and Rose - they a currently living with me at my house until they are old enough to be adopted! These pups will soon be looking for their furever homes!
