🆘 🆘 Rescue and Foster Needed - they are outside. 2 kittens have disappeared. Others have been killed. 🆘
It’s a total of 4 kittens. I didn’t get a picture of the 4th one. It’s a ginger twin. East LA. Same colony as the bottle babies and the 15 cats to be TNR’d. I took the feeder eye medication, lysine, and food. I’m asking finder to take to SGVAA for a wellness check. She doesn’t have a car 😢. Will need help with transportation. Please help me find a foster and rescue. They are not safe outside 🐾 💕

🆘 Rescue and Foster Needed 🆘 East LA.
These kittens were dumped today. I dropped off formula, bottle, and heating pad with finder. They were starving. She can only hold for 1-2 days. We desperately need help. Please help me network!!!

This is a new colony. I’ll be teaming up with Jill to TNR 15 cats. I’ll also be doing a separate post for another set of kittens that needs a rescue.

📅 In October, the Neighborhood Coyote Program tracked coyote activity and shared updates with residents, including reports of coyotes with signs of mange 🐾—a skin disease causing itching, hair loss, and health issues.

Mange spreads through contact or shared dens, but affected coyotes aren’t more aggressive than healthy ones, and the risk to pets 🐶🐱 is low.

Keep reporting sightings to help keep our neighborhoods informed and safe! 👀📲

I created these flyers a while back in a community awareness effort. I’ve also handed these to neighbors and others who feed cats. The flyer contains resources and tips for the community. Not everyone likes cats but it’s not an excuse to hurt them. Animal cruelty is against the law and should be reported. It’s important to respect everyone’s view. By feeding responsibility and fixing the cats we feed, we help to prevent the colonies from growing out of control. I hope this is helpful. Feel free to share it along 🐾 💕

These past two weeks we were able to get a total of 8 cats (3 last week and 5 this week) fixed through Fix Nation. Without the collaboration of several individuals, this would not be possible.

The adorable fluffy tuxedo is known as Big Poppa, he is one of the main culprits in impregnating cats within a two block radius. The next one is known as Puma, he has also been a great contributor to the cat population in this colony. We are happy that the two stud muffins are finally fixed. In this colony we still need to fix a suspected pregnant tortie who is only about 6 months old. There’s also another orange boy who is suspected to be a sibling of the tortie. We also have the tortie mom who has had several litters in this colony. Her most recent litter is with a feeder, who has them crated in effort to find them a rescue (see my other post for more details). Please help us share to find a rescue and foster for them.

One of the tabby cats is the final cat in a colony for which we have fixed over 25 cats (the feeder reminded me the other day lol - it’s so easy to lose track). The other cats were from various colonies.

These next couple weeks will be tough as I have to work on one weekend, have several family commitments, and will be preparing for midterms for school.
Hopefully I can help or collaborate to fix the last 3 in that colony as soon as possible.

I want to thank all those involved: the feeders, fellow trappers, rescues, and those who volunteered their time to pick up from Fix Nation (Elvira and Frankie). Oh and my mom for sacrificing her garage and parking for a couple days for my TNR work.
Thank you 🐾 💕

Pico Rivera to Montebello to East LA

This kitten went to a wonderful foster named Jasmine. She fosters kittens on her own. With her own money.

Here’s the background story…

On September 26th my coworkers told me that they had heard kitten cries in the parking lot for the past couple days. They were certain that it was more than one kitten.

After my lunch I went to check the area and heard really loud cries. It was then when I spotted a single kitten by itself. My coworkers searched the area and we didn’t find mom or any other kittens. I was super stressed since my lunch break was over and I didn’t have any supplies or formula. I sent out messages to several rescue folks and volunteers asking for help. A wonderful volunteer named Amelia created a post for me since I was at work.
Another fellow volunteer recommended that I use insta cart to order formula and supplies. Such a brilliant idea!!! Thank you Shari!
I ordered formula and bottle. I kept the kitten in my office for several hours until I got out. In the meantime I was able to improvise and put a small space heater to kept the kitten warm. After I got out of work I once again went to the area to look for mom and other kittens. I had the kitten crying in a box in hopes to lure mom or other kittens. I didn’t see or hear any signs of other cats or kittens.

Thanks to Amelia’s post we were able to find a great foster. I went to drop off the after work on the same day.

It takes a village! Thank you to all those who made this happen!

⚠️ Montebello ⚠️
Rescue and foster needed for 4 kittens.

Mom is a feral Tortie and will be TNR’d next week along with a stud muffin Tom cat that’s been getting all the cats pregnant 🤦‍♀️ and a new cat that showed up. After those 3 I’ll have 2-3 cats left to fix in that colony.

Sadly, the mom has had multiple litters. I’ve been able to TNR several cats in this colony but haven’t been able to trap mom.

This most recent litter is a few weeks old. They are eating on their own. A neighbor was able to trap 3 of the kittens. They will be trying to get the 4th one. I dropped off a kennel and kitten food last night so she can hold them until we find a rescue / foster for them. I’ll be taking her a cat bed later today.

There are coyotes in the area and they have been taking many cats 😢. We are hoping to find a rescue for the friendly cats and kittens as they are the most vulnerable.

The Tortie mom and the other feral cats have a nice feeder. She has helped some cats with injuries and also tries to provide safe hiding spots in her yard.
I’m working with her to fix the remaining unfixed cats in her colony.

Update 10/6/24. Soph Sam will be fostering the kitten. The kitten will be going to her today or tomorrow. The kitten is just a loveable little girl.

We still need a rescue backing.

🆘 Desperate plea for help! 🆘
I just can’t physically or emotionally take on anything else.

My mom saw this kitten outside her door. By the neighbor in front of her. We are not sure if someone dumped it or how it got there. There are no other stray cats in the vicinity because of a territorial community cat.
We went to check for others and didn’t see any.

Please help me network. I can’t hold for long.
We can try to work out transportation.

The kitten was taken today (10/5/24) to SGVAA today for a kitten wellness check-up. The kitten is a girl and weights 12 ounces.
She’s only got dewormer since she’s too small for anything else

Rock N Pawz Rescue 501c3 is a wonderful rescue organization that has helped me personally and many others. Rock n Pawz has saved the lives of so many animals.
Their love and dedication to animals is beyond words.
Please consider donating. Every amount helps.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
ROCK 'N PAWZ END OF YEAR FUNDRAISER
https://www.rocknpawzrescue.com/donate

Up until now, I have been able to sustain Rock ‘N Pawz's 🐾 operations through self-financing and with the generous support of a handful of compassionate donors who have been there faithfully to help see me through.

Demands on the dollar have now made it necessary for me to seek additional revenue streams if I’m to maintain our current number of animals in care, let alone take in other desperate creatures that are arriving in alarming numbers.

Your contribution of any denomination would be greatly appreciated. Please consider a gift to the best of your ability helping Rock ‘N Pawz 🐾 reach our year-end goal of $20,000 to offset crucial expenses including food and veterinary care. Or you may prefer to make a monthly contribution of $10 or more to have a greater impact with your gift. Automatically giving just $10 a month results in an annual contribution of $120 – money we can count on given in a painless way. Please remember, your support is vital to our continued ability to aid companion animals in crisis and need.

Let me explain...

This past year has been a devastating one for animal shelters and sanctuaries all across our nation, with overcrowding as pets are abandoned due to unprecedented demands on family incomes. Defenseless animals are being abandoned in the deserts of Los Angeles County, left to perish in the relentless summer heat without food or water. And, if not for rescue organizations such as ours, without any lifeline or hope of survival!

Since our founding in 2000, Rock 'N Pawz 🐾 has been passionately committed to rescuing, treating, and rehousing animals in safe, caring, permanent homes with qualified parents who love them. But again, financial constraints are making it more difficult to rehome puppies and kittens, let alone older dogs and cats placing a strain on sheltering facilities nationwide.

As you may already know, we pride ourselves on being one of the most compassionate pet adoption organizations in Southern California, and we are determined to make an impact through any and all means possible!

And this is where you come in!

Be careful with toys and string. They can potentially kill your cat

Fishing pole style toys are usually popular with kitties. Just make sure you put toys with strings out of the cat's reach when play time is over. Curling ribbon is also very dangerous.💕
