Even a minor accident can cause deadly injuries or leave a dog too traumatized to ever feel safe in the car again. Riding loose is never worth the risk. 🚙

Church the service dog in training is working on tucking into small spaces, like bathroom stalls. This helps prepare him for real-life situations like flying, bus travel, restaurants, and more.

Solstice Service Dogs is urgently looking for dedicated puppy raisers to help us prepare our next generation of service dogs—starting with this sweet Fox Red Lab ❤️🐶

As a puppy raiser, you’ll play a vital role in shaping a confident, well-mannered dog that will one day change someone’s life. No experience needed—we provide full education and support every step of the way.

✔️ All vet expenses
✔️ Premium food, treats, and enrichment
✔️ Training gear and puppy supplies
✔️ Professional obedience lessons and group classes

Solstice Service Dogs is currently seeking dedicated individuals for the following roles:

🔹 Volunteer Puppy Raisers
Help raise and socialize future service dogs. Long-term volunteers may be eligible for promotion into a formal trainer position.

🔹 Remote Assistant Trainer (coming soon)
This virtual support role will assist our training team with curriculum, handler communication, and dog development.

We’re looking for individuals who are responsible, motivated to learn, and passionate about service dog work. Experience is a plus but not required — training and mentorship are provided.

Exciting Updates from Solstice!

We’re thrilled to share some big news with our Solstice family!

First up—change is in the air! After a long run of yellow Labs, we’re excited to announce that in the coming months, we’ll be adding a couple of beautiful bench-line chocolate Labrador Retriever puppies to our program. These pups come from amazing lines and amazing preservation breeders, and we can’t wait to welcome them.

As part of this transition, we’ll be shifting to a Labrador-only program. Golden Retrievers and Poodles will now be available only under rare and case-by-case circumstances, if at all.

Next, we’re proud to share that Solstice is expanding into Canada! This means individuals in both the U.S. and Canada can now apply to our program.

With that, we’re also excited to welcome Grayson Doucet as the new Head Trainer of our future Canadian division. Grayson has been working alongside me as a mentee since 2016 and brings an incredible combination of skill, experience, education, and a natural talent for dog training. They wholeheartedly align with our mission, and we’re confident they will be an invaluable addition to the team.

We’re incredibly grateful for all the love, support, and encouragement we’ve received from this amazing community. Here’s to growth, change, and continuing to make a difference—together.

Long time no see.
To make a long story short I have been locked out of Facebook for awhile. I am slowly making a return and I would like to start by saying a HUGE congratulations to Cyn from Solstice Service Dogs who is currently graduating in Washington(with me). I can’t believe this journey started when this puppy was 10 weeks old and didn’t even know how big his paws were.

Scout finally got his happy ending and is currently in his new forever home! 🦮🐾

Unfortunately, a recent potential adopter exhibited inappropriate and hostile behavior toward our team, leading us to unanimously decide that Scout’s safety and well-being come first. Our priority is to place him in a loving, respectful home where he will truly thrive. We kindly ask for patience and understanding—we are a small team of dedicated individuals, and mutual respect is the foundation of our work.

While it’s heartbreaking that Scout is still waiting due to circumstances beyond his control, we are confident that the right home is out there for him!

Why Scout?

Scout is an incredibly versatile 2-year-old Labrador with immense potential. He has been evaluated for detection work—both virtually and in person—and performed exceptionally well. With the right training, he could also excel in other working roles, including service work or as a skilled hunting companion.

He is environmentally stable, eager to please, and highly adaptable, handling situations that might overwhelm other dogs with ease. He is a quick learner and, in his trainer’s opinion, an absolute joy to work with!

What Scout Needs in a Home
• Highly motivated by praise, food, and toys
• Medium-to-high energy level with a strong retrieval drive
• Thrives in active environments with structured engagement
• Has a reliable off-switch but needs regular mental & physical stimulation
• Ideal for an experienced handler familiar with high-drive Labradors

🌷 Scout says: Come tiptoe through the tulips with me! 🌷

💖🥰🥳*Edited: Hi everyone just wanted to update that as January 2025 passes, Scout is still looking for his future forever pawrents 🐾 🖤

Sadly, Santa couldn’t find Scout his forever family this Christmas, so this sweet boy is still looking for a place to call home. While Scout will always be family to us at Solstice, we know he’d thrive in a loving home of his own.

🐾 What makes Scout special?
•He did excellent for his detection work evaluation
•he’s Super versatile and has showed potential in a wide variety of areas such as service work, detection, therapy work,retrieval work, Detection work,
And even potentially a facility dog in the right home.
• Scout loves other dogs but can get overstimulated in larger groups, so a home with fewer dogs is ideal. He currently lives with dogs of all sizes and adores them!
• He’s a huge wiggle-butt, snuggle-bug, and all-around love bug.
• Scout would love a family that’s home often or can bring him along to work—he’s even a great candidate for facility work!

🐶 What Scout needs:
• Lots of love and attention—he’s not a dog who can be left alone for 12+ hours without stimulation.
• A family that can help him channel his medium-to-high energy with proper outlets to maintain his training and his solid off-switch.
• someone familiar with managing dogs that have extreme toy drive.
• Someone willing to let him shine—his trainer says, “Scout is one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever worked with. He may have some puppy moments, but you can’t help but laugh!”

Scout is incredibly versatile and could excel as a service dog, therapy dog, detection dog, or even in field trials. If you’ve applied before but were concerned about the budget, reach out again! While Scout has a rehoming fee to reflect his advanced obedience and care, we’re open to negotiating to find him the perfect home.

Birdie Bean had her spa day! 🛁✨ Thanks to the patience, love, and dedication of the Solstice team, she’s learned that bath time isn’t so scary after all. Hours of desensitization and trust-building have paid off—she was an absolute star! 💕🌟
