Dog Discussion time:
In your opinion, what are some of the healthiest breeds out there? Common or not, all breeds. What breeds have the least amount of health issues.
Everyone is allowed their opinions. This is just a curiosity based question and I wanted other people’s thoughts. There’s no wrong answer here so everyone please remain polite if you comment.
Super late posting this! But Happy 6th Birthday to our 2018 Colorado themed litter! WOW!!! 6 years!!! How crazy is that? They say not to have favorites but I can’t lie, this was my favorite litter! Happy 6th Birthday to Rowan (pictured), Bourbon, Otter, Nala, Maizey, Phoebe and Aspen (RIP).
She took her time to mature, for sure. But goodness gracious I love her 😍 she looks chunky, but I swear it’s just coat. She got all cleaned up today and I wanted to get some updated pictures of her. She has been back with me for a year now and I’m so pleased with her progress and she just turned 4. I love having her with me, especially with me uprooting my whole life and moving away from everything I’ve ever known. I try not to have favorites with my dogs, but she definitely has a special place in my heart 💜

It’s our first litter’s birthday! It’s hard to believe that these first pups of ours is 7 years old today! Happy 7th Birthday to Addie , Blue, Brisby , Luna, Bingo, Patches, Samson, Trooper, Athena and Bingo 2!

I wonder which one is used to posing for pictures and which one hates it? 🤣 I have loved having Rowan here this weekend and having two Blaze babies being able to play together and see the similarities and differences.
I’m not perfect. I’ve made mistakes. I’ll probably make some more. I see things to fix. I have goals and ambitions, plans. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s ok! But I’m proud of the dogs I’ve brought into this world. They’re all in homes that love and cherish them. If any of them couldn’t stay where they were at, I’d take them into my home in a heartbeat. I will always be here for my puppy homes. For questions, support, encouragement, anything. I love seeing the ones that are on IG living their lives with their families and thriving. It makes my heart so happy!
When I chose to start breeding my bottom goal was that anyone who got one of my babies, got to know the same love and bond that I had with Blaze. I didn’t need anything fancy, just people who love and cherish their pups and give them the best life they can with them. Like I said, I’ve made mistakes. Some have been hurt, one was killed and I’ve had to remove a few from their homes and have found them better homes that do match that goal in my mind. There is only a few pups I don’t have contact with and they’re from my first litter, which was an oops litter that I was learning in the moment with.
I’m not doing this to impress anyone. I don’t breed unless I have 3 people minimum wanting a pup from my planned cross. In 7 years I’ve had 4 litters. I’ll admit to my mistakes, I’ll admit that I’m still learning. I’ve never claimed to be perfect. I’m just doing my best to live my best life and enjoy my hobbies and passions like the rest of the world. I’m an open book and will admit to my flaws though. Definitely not ashamed to say I’m not perfect. Are you?
Before (at the river) and after Rowan’s brush, bath and blowout. My hands hurt too much to trim his feet and ears but I’ll do that next time. Besides, his Nana loves his ear floofs so she’ll appreciate having them for longer 😂 I’ve loved having this boy with me this weekend. Every time he stays it just makes me feel complete. I love this dog and I’m so thankful to still have Blaze babies to love on in my life.

Grooming is so stressful over here 🤣 Rowan got brushed out today. I was going to do the full groom I’ve been planning for him since we picked him up the other day buuuuut we’re going to the river today so we’re going to wait on that one!
But, over the years I’ve asked how much aussies shed. People assume that my German Shepherd x Husky mix sheds the most within my household. But honestly, nope. It’s the aussies. Rowan doesn’t live with me but he comes for monthly grooming. Yeah, all that fur is from ONE MONTH! On their genetic panels Rowan and Willow both have the “high shedder” gene 🤣 I was petting Rowan and could feel it in his coat. So we broke the groom up into two parts: brush out and nail trim and then he’ll get the bath and blow out tonight after our trip to the river. And man, does he look sooooo stressed about it 🤣
Today marks a year since I lost them. I miss them every single day. Life hasn’t been the same without Blaze’s sass and Ember’s lovins 💔 RIP my sweet girls, until we meet again ❤️
Rowan is here visiting while his “Nana” (who he lives with) is camping. He’s getting some training touch ups like he does any time he stays here, but also having a blast getting dirty and playing in the hose and getting lots of lovins. Can’t believe he and his littermates are already 5 ❤️
OMG I CANNOT handle this cuteness!!! How cute are Adelaide and Talulah 😍 I LOVE the bond these two have and I love being able to see updates through their mom!
This girl sure loves to get dirty 😳🤣 she loves playing in the hose water, the pool, the river and chasing her dog siblings and friends around. I can’t keep her clean to save my life because that means keeping her from the things she loves. She’s worth it though 🥰
Some of the best dogs are black tris. A blue merle COULD be pretty but have a bad temperament. Don’t over look the black tri. Don’t buy a dog only because of the looks but look for temperament, structure, genetics, a good responsible breeder and much more.
To clarify, this post is not to put down blue merles. I’m simply stating as a breeder blue merles are usually first to go and black tris are left behind. This post is to encourage buying a dog based on multiple factors not just color. The color of a dog doesn’t mean it will have good temperament or what not. You can pick a dog based on color but there’s no promise it will have good temperament, etc. Also, don’t buy cheap dogs just because they are cheap.
When you live in a house with show poodles, you get to experiment with their fancy grooming products 🤣 I was out of my normal shampoo and Rowan came for his monthly bath/blow out/tidy up so I used some of the roomies/besties supplies (second pic)!
DUUUUUUUDE! This stuff is amazing! It smells SO good, you immediately feel the difference in their coat, it rinsed so easily, it brightened/sharpened his colors and it definitely helped give Rowan’s coat some more volume!
The top is today, bottom is last months bath and blow out. Rowan was being a bit of a pain today because of girls in heat so he doesn’t look as nice and polished and I haven’t touched his ears, feet or rear grooming wise in a few months (his Nana loves his goofy ear fluffs) so he’s definitely not perfect and this was JUST after bath and blow out and minimal brushing. I also always forget before pictures and I really need to remember it because he looks a hot mess going in and then so fancy coming out 🤣
I love getting updates of Moka (Blaze x Ammo 2020) because he always looks SO happy! I love seeing our past puppies in their loving homes, living the good life!

Happy Birthday to my most favorite blue merle boy ever Rowan! I can’t believe this boy is 5 years old already! It feels like last year I was having to convince his mom to come out from under the bed and into the whelping box with him 🤣 Rowboat, Rowrow, my sweet, goofy, crazy boy you’re one of the few male dogs I adore! You might live with Nana nowadays but you will always be my boy ❤️ Happy Birthday Rowan!

We discovered Willow’s LOVE for the water today! We went to the river with our friends and she went right in, no hesitation and LOVED it! She got zoomies and ran all around with Groot and Splash chasing after her. She followed me out to the little sand area even when it got deep and required her to swim, she just swam right along beside me. She had so much fun and it made my heart so happy to see her just bursting with joy and excitement! She was a really good girl and even in her excited zoomies when we called because she went too far she came right back!
Willow taking a break from running and playing in the hot sun to her favorite spot in the shade by the fence. Idk if it’s the dirt or the shade or what but this has always been her go-to spot in my yard. Her and Ember used to cuddle together there all the time 🥹💔 having this girl back home she has done wonders for my broken heart. She’ll never replace her moms place in my heart, but she sure has a special part of my heart too ❤️
Another recent update emailed in to us! Mallow from our Chaos theme 2020 litter (Blaze x Ammo)! He is the littermate of Willow who we just got back a couple months ago, and Hudson, our red tri stud we co-own with my brother. Mallow has his own instagram account but life is busy so it’s been inactive but give him a follow

Dog community I need help! Willow’s favorite toy seems to be this pink elephant but I can’t find it! I thought it was goDog brand but it’s not and I can’t seem to find it on Amazon or chewy. I’m wanting to buy a couple of them so that I have back ups. As you can see this one has seen better days. What’s funny is this toy used to be one of Blaze’s “babies”, aka the toys she would carry around while in heat or pregnant. Blaze lost hers ages ago, but my friend had this one and Willow has played with it the most out of her toy hoarding collection - note the stare down I was getting from her just for making her wait to have it while I took the picture 🤣 If anyone knows what brand of toy this dang thing is and where to find it and can point me in the right direction, it would be amazing and I’d be super thankful and you’d be my favorite person for the day!
