This group was created in memory of our beloved cat Korra. Korra was a pregnant stray cat living on the streets of Conshohocken in 2017. She came up to me while I was sitting outside and I could tell she needed a loving and safe place to live, or at least to have her kittens at, So I brought her in and gave her a loving home to have her kittens, as well as a forever family to keep her safe, loved & happy.
Korra was such an amazing guard cat & she never left your side. She would chase anything out of the barn that didn’t belong, but was also the most loving cat you could have. Not only was Korra an Orange/Cinnamon colored female cat, but her litter contained 4 orange/fawn/cinnamon colored females and only 1 orange & white colored male (Merlin). Making her & her litter an oddity, as 80% of orange cats are males & only 20% are female. Korra & all of her babies are very special. Korra went missing on December 12th. She was tragically hit by a car on December 14th. A good Samaritan found her and took her to the local vet clinic. The vet clinic tried to call and get information on Korra using her microchip number, but due to complications no information was available. On January 7th, the woman who found Korra saw my lost flyer posted on Facebook and told me that she found a cat matching Korras description, in the same general location where she was lost. The woman took her body to the local vet clinic. I reached out to the vet clinic she was taken to, gave them the information I had, as well as her microchip number and confirmed that the cat they had, was indeed Korra. Luckily they still had Korras body and we were able to lay her to rest on January 8th. We love and miss her dearly, and those long weeks we spent searching for her were absolutely heartbreaking. Although nothing we can do will bring her back, Putting this group together helps her spirit live on by helping other strays and unfortunate animals like her have a second chance, even if just for one more day. Her son Merlin has since taken over the barn guard duties, and does his job with enthusiasm & grace, Just like his mama did when she was alive. It warms my heart knowing that because we gave her a safe home, her kittens also went to loving fur-ever homes instead of in the streets & alleys where they would be attacked by wildlife or hit by cars, etc. We hope the services and efforts we do help animals have one more meal and a second chance at a new beginning. Thank you for your relentless efforts to help animals in need, 24/7. The world needs more people like you.
