Had a fab session with ex racehorse Tom. Tom says a big fat no to loading and going into confined spaces due to past experiences in his racing life. Progress is slow and steady but allowing him to make his own choices will produce a well rounded, confident horse. No pressure, no fear, happy horse :)

A bit about me.
Horses have always been my greatest passion. Over my lifetime I have dealt with many different types of horses from breeding stallions to riding school ponies. I've seen many different methods of training, some nice, some not so much. I've watched and learned over the years and after dealing with many unwanted/troubled/damaged horses that have been handed my way I've found my own quiet, calm and ethical methods of rehabilitation and training.
I don't use one set method and expect it to work, my methods adapt according to the horse I'm working with. I let him tell me the best way that suits him. Every horse is different with their own set of issues and it's vital that we listen carefully to them. We must move at the horses pace.
I offer equine behaviour consultations to help with any issues your horse may have. Depending on the issue there is an option of a zoom consultation or I can come and see your horse in person. A written report and training plan is optional.
I also offer Reiki. As a fully trained and attuned Reiki master I can give distance or in person sessions. If you're not sure exactly what you and your horse need please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your options.
Please note, I am not a miracle worker! If for example you have a loading issue and you want it resolved and for your horse to load within a 1 hour session then I'm not necessarily the person for you. There is no quick fix for anything. I will help you work slowly and steadily towards your goal, giving your horse solid foundations and understanding of the task. This means that it's less likely for you to have the same issues again in the future.

Distance equine reiki - £15 for 30 mins

In person equine reiki - £35 for 30-60 mins

Above are zone 1 prices
Zone 2 add £10.

Wonderful session this morning with a lovely lady and her cob. Nice relaxing reiki to start with followed by a groundwork and desensitisation session. Looking forward to seeing their progress :)

What methods work best for equines? 9 elements to look for in a training method or approach

1. Avoid any method based on dominance.
2. Any training should take account of the animal’s true nature and individual character.
3. Training should be based on the science of behaviour.
4. Any approach should always consider pain and the environment first as a cause of the behaviour.
5. All training should be based on small steps and a correct approach to shaping behaviour
6. An approach that correctly uses positive reinforcement and focuses on rewarding the correct behaviour
7. A process that includes a written plan
8. An approach that is based on building a relationship before working on behaviour
9. One resonates with you your values and principles

Nice relaxing Reiki session on my boy Maximo this afternoon. He's been struggling with his neck pain lately and had spent the day out in this awful weather. Hes tucked up all cosy for the night now :)
