We planted a butterfly garden in the spring and it didn’t do too well except this Cinderella milkweed plant grew very well. I noticed the other day all the leaves were gone so I inspected it and found 15 monarch caterpillars eating on it. Monarchs butterfly’s lay eggs on milkweed. Also a baby praying mantis eating oleander aphids which are the little yellow spots you see. A lot going on with just this one plant. Next spring plant milkweed to help restore the monarch population and if you have wild milkweed growing just let it grow it’s monarch caterpillars only food source.

We are getting ready to do our wild blackberry jam. We did some jalapeño blackberry last year and it was delicious. I think we are also going to try some habanero blackberry jam too if we have any interest in it. The jalapeños and the habaneros were also grown right here on our farm.

We are a new farm and will have more products as we grow. Some stuff we will have ready in a few weeks will be honey, blackberry jam. Jalepeno blackberry jam was a hit last year and maybe we will try some habanero backberry jam this year too, pickles and salsa.
