Our late spring baby boom count keeps going up! This morning we were blessed with 7 new mini lop babies out of Angelica (who has already earned 3 GC legs including BOB) and our new buck that we recently acquired from Brandy Burroughs-Dunn over on the East Coast at Bundles of Bunnies rabbitry. BB Burton. So, we are quite excited to see how these babies turn out as far as show quality is concerned.
* As a fun bonus, we got some fun new colors we haven't seen here before!
Such a beautiful afternoon to let the babies run!
A look into mini lop judging.
These were our broken Juniors being judged at the show last weekend. 1 Jr. Buck and 2 Jr. Does. Their mom is the Broken Sr. on the table as well. All rabbits whose ear #s start with Z are ours. Such great comments for only being 4.5 months old! At the end ZHAM (Hamilton) wins Best Opposite Sex to the Big Solid Senior Doe who wins Best of Breed. (That rabbit also went on to win Best in Show so we definitely had great competition!)
We can't wait to see how our "babies" show in the spring!
9 weeks old and loving life!
Don't you want one? 😉
Checking in on our sweet Mini Lop babies!
Remember those 2 little babies we had last month that were struggling to gain weight for awhile? Well, here they are all grown up at 8 weeks and will both be looking for pet homes soon!
Meet Smalls & Jo. Both bucks. 😍
*Side note: If taken together they would need to eventually be housed separately because around 4 months old this baby bond will break and they would most likely start fighting. (Unless neutered).
What a gorgeous day outside... In January!
Ok, so 3 weeks might just be my favorite age!
So inquisitive, ears coming down, just all around super cute to watch! ❤
Morning greetings!
She does this every single day! 🥰
Such a gorgeous morning to let the buns out for a run!
Caught some early "hay-stashing" and nesting activity from Maggie! So fun to watch!
She is not due for another week but the last few days she has completely pulled out all of her hay from her hay rack within minutes of it being filled and then tries digging obsessively! These are very normal nesting signs so I decided to give her a nest box early ( normally I wait until 3 days before due date). She definitely went to town! I'm sure she will destroy what she builds today and then rebuild several times before she is finally satisfied. ❤️. Such a good mama! ❤️
And yes, she will get the rest of the winter off if all goes well with this litter.
Captain Blackstar... We knew you were special! Earning Champion Supreme Rabbit at the fair totally makes that 10 hour trip we made to Iowa to get you worth it! 😉
Can't wait to see the babies we get from Maggie and Captain later this month!
A Full House!!!
All of our outdoor cages are full right now and we are super excited about it! We love the shade under the trees and the breeze that flows through this area of our yard so feel this is best for our bunnies in the summer. However, cooler temps will be very welcomed soon!
Happy babies this morning!
