lovely Marble 🦄
If you guessed Unicorn the other day then you’d be correct 😉 she’s a mare!!
Even I was amazed at these two large beans that I removed from her the other day 😮
Me and her lovely mum got talking about the importance of sheath cleaning and how it’s incredible that some people aren’t aware it’s even a thing!
As horse owners we should be forever learning and being open minded to things
Sheath clean should be part of your horses MOT either yearly or 6 monthly (some more regularly) depending on the individual 🦄🐴

Beans are a build up of smegma, dirt, grime sweat, skin cells etc which form together at the tip of the horses pen*s in the urethral fossa pocket and if left, can become extremely large and unfortunately for your horse are they sit directly next to the horses urethra🫘
A professional sheath clean involves cleaning your horses sheath, extracting any beans if necessary and also a health check and refferal if needed 🤠

here my 3 top tips on how to help make your horses feel as comfortable as possible during there first visit ✅
🫘 start gently touching/grooming the outside of the inner upper legs and sheath so they start to familiarise you being around that area
🐴 a competent, confident and understanding handler, this helps keep all parties safe and the horse nice and comfortable
🧼 praise! This can be in the form of treats, scratches, lick it, whatever your horse likes best 🥰 but praise is key!🔑
