Sister!?
Hello! My name is Mallory, am about 2 to 2 1/2 years old and weigh around 60 pounds. I am a smaller girl in size but massive in personality! I had a rough start when I first came into the SGSR. I was found in Memphis and was believed to have been hit by a car. I suffered a broken rear leg and have permanent radial nerve damage to one of my front legs. My back leg has healed, and while I get around fine, I just limp a bit. My front paw will always be curled in and I will probably never regain feeling from the elbow down. I do, however, use my front leg to hold my bones or favorite toys.
I LOVE to play. I play pretty much all day. My foster sisters, both GSDs, are the best play buddies. I love to ‘talk’, and while other dogs may take this the wrong way, it’s completely harmless. My foster mom tells me all the time that I am smarter than her two other German Shepherds Dogs, but I am not allowed to tell them that. I walk really well on a leash but will take an occasional break as all that walking occasionally wears me out a little. I know how to sit, stay (sort of), and I wait to eat my food until you give me the okay. I LOVE people! I am a bit cautious at first but will bond really quickly with my humans.
My foster mom has a cat, and I don’t know what it is about that cat, but I can’t get enough of it. My mom thinks I would not do good in a house with a cat or small pet like a bunny because I am just way too curious. I would do great with a confident fur sibling about my size or larger. I LOVE kids and would do great with them if they are old enough to know how to properly interact with me. I do well in a crate and will let you know when I need to go outside to go potty. My personality is HUGE and SASSY! I make funny noises and my foster mom laughs all the time at me. I love belly rubs and snuggling in bed with you. If you think I am the dog for you, let me know! I am ready for my forever home!! If you’re interested in making me part of your family, contact your adoption coordinator. If you’re not already approved to adopt and in VA, NC or MD, you can find our adoption application here (be sure to read the FAQ section): www.southeastgermanshepherdrescue.com . I am being fostered in Virginia Beach, VA.
