This is the post.

One of the reasons I don't like asking for help is people prying into my life. Not because I am hiding anything but because some people like to judge others unjustly.

The taking care of these animals have been brutal on me, I'm dying here - no literally - this is killing me. But I'm not asking for anyone to pay my way, I'm asking for help on a matter because I am not able to do this by myself.

Maybe some people understand that my life has been difficult for some years now, maybe they see that in my eyes, or read it through my words or observe how the cancer has eaten away my face.

Disability in Charleston, WV is a joke. All of my doctors say I should have already been granted my disability - and they went to college and have degrees - I trust them. My therapist tells me to move to another state and I will have my disability.

I am not trying to run a rescue; I'm trying to take care of cats that maybe no one else gives a damn about - but I do. They came to my feeding station because they wanted a free meal and stayed because I didn't run them off. Didn't run the opossum off either. The deer that slept all around my place considered me safe too.

I'm an Appalachian woman who loves deeply and cares for these animals, you either understand me or you don't. I just wish my passion was enough and I didn't have to ask for help.

Really hope you never have to feel the sorrow, the disappointment, the feeling of failing those whom you love.

I guarantee you no one loves these cats the way I do, I know what we are going thru isn't good for any of us. I'm not trying to scam anyone - I'm trying to keep these cats as safe as I can. I am not receiving any help from anyone. I'm a Toxic water survivor, fighting for my disability with physical and mental conditions. I'm asking fellow humans for help. Does that not convey. Do we not deserve some love in this world.

We are currently homeless with the cats living out of a rented box truck, we need this cargo trailer to contain the animals until we find a new home.

“There are also lots of small things that people can do too. If you have a backyard, you can let it grow a bit; don’t cut the grass as much or rake the leaves as often. You can plant flowers and other plants that are attractive to native pollinators. You can lessen the amount you spray, and insects will bounce back quite quickly.” Learn more! https://orgcns.org/3pAPrFT

Feeding a lot of mouths on limited funds requires creative maneuvers to make it all work. Through regular donations, our pantry replenishes when needed. We are greatly appreciative of help helping the animals.

Opal would carry coins, not to purchase anything but to toss them at others. I bet all would carry gemstones.

It takes a lot to feed the crew here. Over the years a few tricks have been mastered. None of which would be possible without help from our supporters and friends. We thank everyone who donates to us in person, over our Amazon Wishlist, thru Messenger, or on Go Fund Me. 🥰

An intact feral momma named Babe had kittens a couple of days ago. One had its intestines on the outside of its body and had to be culled. It was a huge mess and involved cleaning the whole area. Afterward, the mother wouldn't have anything to do with her kittens and they were brought inside to be hand raised.

There are a few more items on our Amazon Wish List specifically for the kittens. The two surviving kittens are a boy and a girl.
Summer is the girl and Sol is the boy (born June 21), Sol has had a bowel movement and we celebrate that his intestines are working correctly. Fingers crossed on Summer having equal success.

We appreciate every bit of help that we receive. We give up so much to take care of those left behind by society. We give love to creatures other people throw buckets of water on, scream at, and could care less for their existence.

Babe, a feral cat that can't be touched has had numerous litters throughout the years but I've only seen a few kittens that could have been hers. I thought someone was doing unthinkable things to those kittens. Yesterday I found out why.

While cleaning our place up I came across two kittens (these), one had what I originally thought was the umbilical cord. The kittens were covered in fly eggs growing into maggots. You should never cut the umbilical cord but it had so many eggs and debris on it that I felt that it was necessary. Utilizing my vet tech experience to treat the affected kitten and the other kitten who was infested with fly eggs too.

I put them in a box and set them where I found them, believing the mother would come to take care of them. Went on with what I was doing.

Checked on the kittens and found another kitten, so the mother is still having kittens. I saw flies around the kitten and picked it up to find the horror of the intestines on the outside of the body. Mortified. I knew what had to be done, but my weak arse feels like my soul is ripped out of my existence when I have to take life. I hoped the mother would do what needed to be done.

Knowing now that what I cut off the other kitten could have been the intestine, my heart dropped. I placed the kittens together for the mother to do what had to be done and took the other one inside to tend to and keep out of harm's way while the mom goes to a dark place and did not want a mistake to be made on a healthy kitten.

I checked back after an hour and both kittens were still there, alive. The one with all of its intestines was in distress. It was time, I hate this part. Really just wanted to hand this job off to someone else that doesn't hold life as dear as I do.

I prepared my tools and checked the kitten I cut something off of and everything looked fine like it was the umbilical cord I cut. At this point, this kitten gets a chance. The other one is no longer with us, no longer suffering. Done with peace, love, and mercy.

The kittens were not accepted back by their mother. Another attempt to unite - later on today, fingers crossed.
