Tink's breathing was a bit laboured this morning so we rushed back up to our regular vet. She spent the day on oxygen and fluids, and has come home with a few more medicines to help manage her discomfort as she fights the aspiration pneumonia. It may be a couple of weeks until she is back to her usual sassy self, but we're really hopeful she's turned the corner and will only improve from here. She's eating and drinking, she's had a p**p, and her lungs are definitely improving.

It's been a horrendous few days, we really thought we might lose her there for a minute. Huge thank you to our amazing vet team/s for looking after our baby Belle so well. Here is Lady Muck herself enjoying having her Daddy carry her everywhere today. We'll know she's feeling better when she starts yelling when she wants something, and we take too long to figure out what it is.

Exhausted but super grateful to have all my babies home safe tonight.

Tinks is home! She is still very tired and her breathing isn't 100% but she's keeping food and water down so she's well enough to be nursed here at home. She's SUPER hydrated so leaking urine, but that does mean that she got to try out her FABULOUS new diaper design, created for us by and I think the duckies are helping to cheer her up (they're definitely helping Momma who feels like she's been run over by a train). She's not out of the woods but she's got excellent Meds on board for the pneumonia and her repeat scans don't show an obstruction, so while she hasn't p**ped yet we're very hopeful there won't be one far away! Thank you for all the love and healing vibes for our precious princess, it means the world to us that so many people know how special and amazing she is too. 💜💜💜

Tinkerbelle update: baby girl is staying the night at the after hours vet so she can continue IV fluids, anti nausea and pain meds. She has had a little bout of respiratory distress, and despite sounding clear the bit of her lungs they could see on her abdomen xrays show aspiration pneumonia, so she's also been started on antibiotics. She's not allowed to eat, but is keeping water down now which is an improvement. The aim is to repeat xrays first thing (and add a thoracic series to thoroughly check her lungs). The object on Xray at her appointment yesterday isn't there on this afternoon's scan, so really hoping that means the fluids are helping push it on out. They sent the films to a specialist - I haven't got the report yet but they told me over the phone that her mega colon we've been managing for the last couple of years has resolved which is a big win. They did, however note a hernia between her abdomen and chest cavity (pyloric-something?). Not sure if this is preexisting or new, but it does add an even larger layer of risk to abdominal surgery as it's likely her lungs will collapse when they open her abdomen, so we are just hoping like hell we don't have to go there.

As he said himself, you can't put a price on the smile of Daddy's little princess, but why do huge unexpected bills always appear right when other huge bills have just been paid or are due? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Phone is on loud overnight, but hopefully our girl will be well enough to come home tomorrow... It's very weird that she's not here.

(I also didn't factor in how hard it would be going back into the referral center for the first time since we lost Briggle. Had a big cry in the car park. I still miss him so much it physically hurts.)

Healing vibes and prayers up for our bestest wobble girl please, she is currently battling an abdominal blockage and not very well. She is currently at Waikato After Hours Veterinary Hospital getting fluids as she can't keep anything down. Once she's rehydrated they will do another set of scans - and hopefully the object will be moving on it's way by then because surgery for bowel obstruction is very risky - and even more so for our Tinks whose complications from her 'normal' condition have been steadily stacking over the last couple of years. Pretty worried...

Daddy and Alfie has a great time getting grubby at the Dirty Dog Challenge! Momma and Gus-bus went and cheered them on and ate snacks. Alfie was even recognised by one of our lovely followers which made his day! Huge thanks to all of the amazing sponsors that made the event so great, especially the Fundraising for Impounded Dogs team and our friend Kellie from . Angus really loved his massage while we were waiting for Daddy and Alfie to get back!

Angus-Bus really enjoyed hanging with our fabulous vet team, he's obviously not holding a grudge 🤣🤣 as when I went to pick him up he was too busy having cuddles. He acquiesced to a 20min nap when we got home, then went straight back to raising hell. Keeping him amused while he healing is going to be tough!
