Piggy is getting pretty awkward and rotund 😏 She didn't lamb with the others which was unusual for her, so perhaps she aborted early on. Anyway, she looks not too far off. Maybe a couple of weeks.

Dear old Bootsy is getting better every day. He even broke out into a canter tonight when they were fed 😏 His poor right ear was damaged from laying on it for so long but it seems to be lifting slightly.

There is always something 🫤. Boots was missing when I went to feed the old cracker mob, so I went looking. Found him cast in the dam gutter. It is pretty shallow but he was unable to get himself over to get his feet under him. I am guessing he had been there all night. He probably weighs 100kg so it took a lot of effort, false starts and hours of patience to get him down to the hospital paddock. He was drenched with Anitone, Ketol and glucose water and given some chaff once I had him out of the drain and onto flat ground. Then I sat with him while he had a rest and a snooze. Then I went and got a heavy bale of hay to prop him up against to get his equilibrium back. Finally on his feet, his body kept trying to fall left so I had to brace against that side of him and guide him on the slow walk the 100 metres to the hospital paddock. He just wanted to get back to his mob so old Fern is now in with him. He is still unable to get up unassisted once he gets down but has had food and water so hopefully his strength will improve. He is 10 and was bottle raised with Ivy (who broke her leg a few months ago 😔).

Now that the main mob have access to the little paddock again, Laverne took the opportunity to come for a cuddle and lots of scratches. Her twins didn't quite know what to make of it all 😏

Today the 11 lambs and 7 ewes from the special needs paddock were released back out with the main mob. They didn't venture far, and the fantastic 5 came back for their arvo 🍼😊

I was never quite happy with the name Devo for my og 🍼 baby, but thought a better name would make itself known. Tonight after all had their bottles and hay, he was standing next to tiny DannyDeVito (both hoping for an extra treat) and they reminded me of the movie Twins. So henceforth he will be known as ArnoldSchwarzenegger, or Arnie for short. Suits him I think 😂

Deano has left the building...and the farm is once again testicle free 😏. Getting the big guy yarded and into the ute crate was the source of a few sleepless nights overthinking the logistics of it. He isn't a mean ram, but a big strong ram nevertheless and as such always capable of inflicting serious injury when separated from the mob. Delivered safe and sound to CVLX saleyards where I hope he might get another run as a breeding ram as he is only a 2 year old.
