For anyone traveling with their dog to the US.
To our Lovely Clients,
As of August 1, 2024, US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) will issue regulations to control the entry of dogs into the United States from other countries. These rules apply to all dogs, including puppies, service animals, and dogs that left the United States and are returning. They also apply whether you are a U.S. citizen, legal U.S. resident, or foreign national. This does not apply to cats at this time.

The Reasoning Behind This:
To protect the public's health against Rabies. To enter the United States, dogs will be required to meet specific criteria. Use the DogBot Link to determine what rules apply to a dog based on when the dog will arrive in the United States, where the dog has been in the 6 months before arriving in the United States, and where the dog received its rabies vaccination (if required). Alternatively, visit www.cdc.gov/dogtravel to determine what rules apply to importing a dog based on its circumstances.
*If you do not follow CDC's rules, the dog may not be allowed to enter the United States.
Veterinarian’s Role:
The transportation paperwork, now called the CDC Dog Import Form, will soon be required. However, the form has not yet been released yet by the CDC. Once available, hospitals will be able to evaluate the workload for veterinarians and set a fee for the required paperwork accordingly.
