Did you know that pet grooming is a completely unregulated industry? There is no requirement for formal education, no required continuing education, and no required testing or certification?
Anyone and everyone can just pick up a pair of clippers and start advertising themselves as a groomer and charge people for a service they aren’t trained to perform.
It’s completely up to you, the owner, to do your research and make sure the person you are trusting with the health and safety of your pet is qualified to care for them.
Every groomer should be trained, and that very basic training takes months.
It takes years to truly master the ins and outs of grooming and everything that goes along with it.
Pet grooming is so much more than just a hair style.
*It’s knowing dog behavior and how to safely handle all the different personalities and quirks.
*It’s recognizing health conditions that would be better suited seeing a vet such as skin or ear infections.
*It’s being prepared for any and all emergencies that can happen, from seizures to allergic reactions, to nicks and cuts and quicked toenails without panicking.
*It’s knowing how to best deal with a variety of coat types properly.
*It’s being able to know when to stop a service on a particular dog due to behavior or health.
*It’s having the knowledge and patience to handle a different species while holding razor sharp clippers or 8 inch long scissors.
At the very least, the groomer you use should seek out continuing education to make sure they are current on the changes in the industry, from upgrades in products to tools that make the process easier for the pet and them.
They should be current on their pet cpr/first aid certification which needs repeated every couple of years.
They should be able to answer your grooming related questions with knowledge and confidence and if they don’t know the answer they should know where to find it.
They should have an emergency plan in place with a local veterinarian in case anything happens, because when working with animals it’s not a matter of if something happens, but when.
They should come recommended by other pet owners and pet professionals.
And it’s worth noting that there is nothing wrong with using a groomer that is still in training, but they should be working alongside an experienced groomer and under their direct supervision.
Ask the questions, after all you are paying them for a service. A groomer who has spent time and money to be as educated as possible is excited to share their knowledge!

well friends it happened earlier then expected but it hit 100° today so I'm having to cut back on hours of operation earlier then I wanted to....so with that being said my last appointment time will be 11am I will only have 4 available appointments a day❗️( IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A APPOINTMENT IT WILL NOT BE CHANGED)❗️❗️THIS IS ONLY FOR THE SUMMER MONTHS ❗️but good news is this will be my last summer I have to do this I put in a order for a new ford Transit Van that will be well Insulated with the biggest a/c I could put on it🙂

I have started adding cats to my schedule I'm offering Sanitary trims ,nails clipping and baths❗️I can not do full body hair cuts right ❗️ I will be taking courses and will be attending a seminar on cat grooming in the future because I would love to learn how to do this safety and Correctly

As of today May 1st I will no longer be taken any NEW clients In the Terry ,Byrom, Raymond, Florence and Clinton areas. The days that I'm in those areas are completely booked up. And with me being 2 months booked out there is no way. I can add an extra day to those areas. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

Hey everyone I just wanted to come on here to explain the process of mobile pet grooming. I have a lot of clients. New and old that still don't quite understand everything. So with mobile pet grooming, it is considered a luxury experience For you and your pets, I come to you and I have a large converted shuttle bus. That is quite literally a salon on wheels. It has water, electricity, hot water and all the amenities of a salon. With that being said, it is a lot more expensive to have a mobile groomer, come to you. Upwards 50 to a $100 more than if you were to go inside of a salon. Also, it does not take long to get your dog groomed by a mobile pet groomer, small dogs will take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes, larger dogs can take up to 1 to 1 and a 1/2 hours. Reason for that is because your dog is the only focus . If you were to drop your dog off at a salon, it takes anywhere from 3, 4 to even 5 hours
(For example.)
Let's say I'm grooming a Sh*tzu And it has roughly one inch of Coat all over the owner tells me they want to take half off. So before the bath I will give it. What is called a pre-cut And I will knock off the majority of the hair before the bath that takes roughly 5 minutes. After that, there is a Significant amount of hair less that I have to bathe and dry. Giving the dog a bath Takes 5 minutes. And now that the dog is completely clean. I will towel dry and ring out as much water out of the hair as possible. Now it's time for the dryer. The fact that the dog is completely clean and already has a less amount of hair to dry. It should only take 15 minutes. After the dog is completely dry. I brush it out and then finish the haircut. Which is mainly just scissor work and making a super cute adorable face, which takes 15 minutes. So with that explanation, it took me roughly 40 to 45 minutes to groom the dog. Now, if the owners wanted a shave down with a round Teddy bear face, it's gonna take even less time to dry the dog because there really isn't much hair to dry. This example will also work for larger dogs. Just more time for grooming and drying And now, of course, there is times that it will take me longer to get your pet groomed depending On the situation, if you're getting a specialty, cut hair dye a show trim. Or if your dog is super impacted or is matted. Of course, it's gonna take more time.
