Paws 4 Effect Featured Adoptee: Gigi

Gigi is a 7–8 month old Pitbull Terrier being cared for by the Carroll County, KY Animal shelter. She is good around other dogs, but it is unknown if she is good with cats. Come meet Gigi, she could be the perfect pet for you!

Monthly Shelter Spotlight: Animal Care Society

Animal Care Society was founded in 1984 by nine individuals who each had a passion for helping animals in need. When they eventually grew in membership and gained sufficient funds, they opened Louisville’s first no-kill animal shelter in 1988. Since then, the Animal Care Society has placed over 17,000 animals into loving homes.

Since its inception, the Animal Care Society has been a safe haven for animals during their search for a FUR-ever home. They provide neglected, abused, senior pets, and pets with medical needs with a second chance.

The Animal Care Society receives no support from other humane societies or any other local, state, or federal agencies. They run solely on donations and grants from the community.

For many years, the Animal Care Society has hosted many community activities including Youth Education programs. Eagle Scout Projects, and Animal welfare education programs.

PAWS 4 Effect Featured Adoptee: Bonnie

Bonnie is a 2-3 year old hound mix being cared for by Owen County Friends of Animals, Inc. She can be very energetic, but usually calms down quickly. She is good with kids and other dogs, and is curious about cats (but not aggressive). She also LOVES belly rubs. Come on down and meet Bonnie, you'll love her!

PAWS 4 Effect Featured Adoptee: Minkah

Minkah is a 2 year old boxer/pit mix being cared for by the Animal Care Society . Minkah gets Nervous at the shelter, so he spends his time in a foster home. He is dog friendly, well behaved, and housebroken. His favorite thing to do is run around the backyard with the other dogs in his foster home. Minkah would prefer a home with less foot traffic, as he get nervous around strangers. If you think you would be a good fit for Minkah, make sure to submit an application on the ACS's website.

Let's help this dog out!!

🚨URGENT FOSTER NEEDED🚨

Groot injured himself at the shelter and had to have a minor surgery yesterday. He is in need of a foster home where he can heal for the next two weeks!

🐾A foster home would need to be able to give daily medications (orally), leash walks only, and ensure that Groot’s foot stays dry and clean.
