Bakersfield, CA – URGENT: Donations Needed! 🆘🆘🆘🆘**

Over the weekend, I was tagged in a post about a tenant getting evicted and needing help with their cats. Initially, I thought it was fewer than 10 cats, so I wasn’t fully prepared when I arrived. What we encountered was far worse than we could have imagined.

When we entered the house, wearing masks because of the overwhelming smell, we were faced with a heartbreaking scene: around 45 cats, including kittens, and a dog, all living in squalor. There wasn’t a pinch of clean litter in their boxes—pee and p**p covered the floors, and we were literally standing in puddles of urine. Despite living in such horrific conditions, these sweet cats were so friendly, just craving attention. How no one called Animal Control (AC) or Child Protective Services (CPS) on this tenant before is beyond me! This nightmare didn’t happen overnight.

On Monday, AC got involved and agreed to take the remaining cats and dog within 48 hours, with plans to assess and potentially press cruelty charges. However, that night, the landlord opened the front door and released all the animals into the neighborhood. Now, there are friendly, unfixed cats and a dog roaming the streets. 😔

We returned on Tuesday and managed to rescue another 13 cats, but many more were still hiding in the debris or had scattered into the streets. Our time was cut short as the locksmith and cleaning crew arrived, forcing us to leave. It’s devastating to know that so many animals couldn’t be saved due to the landlord’s reckless actions.

We now have several cats in foster homes and 7 cats in boarding, with more expected to join them next week. We desperately need donations to keep them safe in boarding until we can find them permanent homes. Thanks to a generous friend, we’ve secured a discounted rate of $40 a day for the 7 cats, but this cost will increase as more are added.

Mom has 5 kittens that she’s still nursing. Kittens are 5 weeks old. Mom is super friendly. Mom will be spayed once she’s done nursing and up for adoption and once kittens are old enough they will get the same. All supplies will be provided. They just need a safe home for them , inside.

Bakersfield ca - bonded pair looking for a home!

Brie (2 yrs old a dilute calico female ) and mango (a 5 month old orange tabby male) are 2 peas in a pod and were abandoned by their owners in a parking lot with all to their belongings and a note. Their owner was moving to Ohio and couldn’t take them 😡! They seem very bonded and have to be touching each other. Even though they were dumped off, they still are very loving and confine to make biscuits! We want to adopt them both out together in a home 🩷

Simon the Siamese is almost 7 months old and has been in a foster home with his buddy Freddy. Simon will make you fall head over heels in love with him. He is an energetic boy & is ready to be your BFF! He loves playing in paper bags, feather toys, and anything he can swat around & chase. He likes all cats & isn’t bothered by the dogs in the house either. He loves playing with the small foster puppies. He enjoys crunchy treats & wet food. He likes to snuggle beside you in bed, make biscuits on you, and purr you to sleep at night.

Gracie is a gentle 3 yr old cat who’s then to find a home of her own is NOW. She raised her kittens and some have already found their homes. She was even a surrogate mom to orphan kittens through the city shelter! This girl has done her part and more in mothering kittens and she needs a LOVING family of her own! Gracie gets along with other cats and small dogs. She is currently at petsmart up for adoption and is scared inside of the cage. She’s been in a loving home with a foster and cage life isn’t for her.

Lulu was dumped off in a laundry basket on the curb at petsmart on Good Friday (March 29th). She was tiny, sick and underweight. Once I got her home I started her on antibiotics, eye ointment and bottle fed her. Even with the medicine she was on it didn’t clear up everything she had going on with her. She had too much scar tissue on her eyes and the vet said she would most likely be blind. Lulu is now 4 months old, spayed , vaccinated and blind. She manages around the house just fine. Gets along with my cats and dogs too. It will take a very SPECIAL human and home to adopt her🩷

Hi, I’m Sadie and I just want a home to call my own. I was dumped in a crate with 4 of my babies left outside of a PetSmart. Some lovely ladies fostered me and said I am the perfect house guest. I love my cat tree, scratch post and lots of toys! I’m not a fan of other adult cats, not sure if it’s because I’m in protective mode over my babies, traumatized by being dumped or what?! I will either need to be the only cat or someone to give me the time to adjust slowly. I do play nice with kittens though. The doc says I am 2 1/2 years young, spayed and vaccinated. Please consider giving me a chance at your home.

These cats will be homeless Friday. Their human mom is moving closer to where her daughter gets her chemo infusions. She’s tried to get them news homes with no luck. If fosters can step up , we can save their lives. Their household is already stressful with moving boxes everywhere and these cats need a safe place. They will get fixed and vaccinated and be up for adoption. They just need that stepping stone in between.

I have been raised indoors only. My foster mom has had me since I was on a bottle. I am currently being fostered with an adult cat that I love playing with all day long.
