Calgary Humane Society is proud to announce its first Community Spay and Neuter Clinic aimed at addressing urgent pet overpopulation and capacity issues in Calgary 🩺 . We need your help to put it on 🚨 ! The first clinic is scheduled to take place on June 27 and will be accessible for low-income families who's cat or dog is in need of a spay/neuter 🐱🐶. Applications of the clinic will open on June 17th.

This is no life for a domesticated animal. 😭 An unaltered female cat can produce 3 litters per year. With an average litter size of 4 - 6 kittens. A single unspayed female cat and her offspring can produce more than 400,000 cats in her lifetime! 😭 Please sterilize your pets. ✂️✂️💗

Did you know? A single pair of cats and their kittens can produce as many as 420,000 kittens in just 7 years. Read that again! 420,000!

There are just not enough people to physically and financially take care of all these animals. Some may get lucky, find a rescue or a shelter or a furever home. But there are millions born everyday to take their place and then some. Help us reduce the sufferring by sponsoring a sterilization so there are less unwanted animals being born.

The rules in the USA 🇺🇸 are changing for importing dogs on August 1, 2024. 😖 Very few US airlines allow dogs in cargo, since covid. After August 1, all dogs travelling to the USA must be a minimum of 6 months old. These puppies will be too big by then to fit in cabin. Their second chance at a family in the USA will be gone. If you are in the USA and considering adopting a dog from another country. Now is the time. ⏰

Moreover, we give our volunteers Spanish classes before they embark on their journey through Spanish for Veterinary Professionals.
