Hello friends! A gentle reminder that dogs that are available for adoption will be posted on our social media channels, a minimum of 5 days before we begin to accept adoption applications. Inquiring about dogs in foster care, or sending an application when there are no dogs currently up for adoption, drains the resources of our all volunteer rescue. We post regular updates on all of the dogs in our care on the website, as well as on social media, so you can keep up with your favorite foster pugs. We don't know when any of our dogs will be ready for adoption, and we appreciate everyone's patience as we allow each dog to receive all their required medical and behavioral care before we can start thinking about their forever home. Thank you for your understanding and your support of Pugalug!

As many of you know, Pugalug has currently closed our intake of new foster pugs because we are at capacity. That doesn't mean the emails from owners looking to surrender, or shelters looking to place a pug stop. Our President, Blanche Axton recently published a new blog post on our website talking about the current state of the dog rescue world, and the realities of dog rescue in a time of chaos. Spoiler Alert: things are tough right now, not just for Pugalug Pug Rescue but for the entire dog rescue community. Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers and foster families for the hard work that you do and for the care and commitment you give to us. We are entirely volunteer-run, and this rescue and the work that we do doesn't exist without you.

📝 “One thing that she has gotten great at is learning how to be more of a “dog”. She has learned how to smell more during walks, has fun shredding (under supervision), and has learned to finish her puzzles quicker and quicker each time—it’s great!”

💖 Sweet TAM has a cozy update from 🏡 Foster Home. ☀️ Happy Friday!

📝 “Tam continues to keep on trucking but walks very little now. She still eats well and always makes her needs known with her various interesting little barks. She sits at my feet all day while I work from home. On the days that I am in the office, my younger daughter tends to sit with her for the day. All in all she seems to still be quite happy and comfortable but at this time we treat each day as a gift.”
