I always get asked what a canine massage looks like, well this it it! 🐕

My girl Piper graciously volunteered to get a massage for all of you!

This is just a small clip there a times that she’ll get up and move around or stretch out, which is totally normal!

Massage helps Piper with tension she has through her neck and shoulders from pulling on her leash. 🐕

Hey everyone!

Happy Thursday!

Now that it’s spring a lot of us are bringing our critters in for some pest prevention, or annual check up. While you’re in to see your vet you can also ask them about massage for your dog!!

All you have to do is ask them to fill in the form and your pup is ready to get their first massage! 🐾🐕

Earle was having some trouble with his hips. As we progress through his treatments we will see how his walk improves!

Today’s the day!!

My first day of canine massage will be May 1st! 🐕🐾

You can send me a DM or email me at [email protected] to get a spot for your four legged family member!

Before your next vet appointment please connect Paw in Hand and I will forward you the required referral form.

Appointments will be available Saturday mornings from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm and will be 30 minutes each to start. The clinic room will be completely cleaned in-between dogs to keep everyone as safe as possible!

30 minutes session are $50 tax included!

I am so excited to meet all of your animals and give them the best care possible! 🐾🐕

I get asked this all the time!!

The techniques of massage are the same for dos as they are for people, but there are obviously some differences. We do an assessment to see how they are doing and then get into treatment! The key to an enjoyable treatment is to work with what the dog give us!

For a canine massage I’ll get down to their level to treat them, sometimes it does involve a little moving around the clinic room until they find a comfortable spot! I’ll watch their body language and take their cues about what they need during treatment, if something feels good, if a spot is tender, or even is they need a little break from treatment.

We want to make massage a positive experience for every four legged friends! Some dogs may take even a few treatments to really relax and get comfortable and we will work with that too! 🐾🐕🐾

Let’s jump right into one of the biggest questions about canine massage! 🐕

Why would my dog need a massage?

Dogs could have a massage for a variety of reasons! Here are two big ones!

To start they can benefit from massage because it helps to relax their muscles. Our four legged friends are really active and sometimes it’s easy to forget that all that exercise can lead to tense muscles! Espically in dogs who are involved in agility or who are working animals!

Another reason could be to help with the symptoms of some common disorders like arthritis and hip dysplasia. Massage can helps to make them a little more comfortable much like it would in people!

There are many other reasons to have our fur babies to get a massage! If you have a question about if your do dog could benefit from a treatment just reach out!

Newfoundland is moving into Level 2!

As the province moved forward I thought it would be a great time to get a move too!

Next week I’ll be talking about all kinds of things related to canine massage! 🐕 I’ll also be announcing when I hope to get your four legged friends in for their first treatments!!

It has been a rough week to say the least, and I wanted to add some positivity by telling you all about a new service coming soon!

I’d love to introduce you to Paw in Hand! Soon not only will I be treating my wonderful human clients but I’ll also be accepting four legged clients! 🐕🐾
