I have made the difficult decision to temporarily close Adoptions until further notice. Back in the beginning of the year I sent in oral swabs to test my rattery for Multiple different infectious diseases. Due to the fact that I pooled all the swabs into one test It is impossible for me to know which rats tested positive but I am sad to announce that the Rattery has tested Positive for Rat Bite fever. It is a preventable and curable illness that effects us but I do not currently feel comfortable adopting potentially hazardous animals to families with children and immunocompromised persons. For now all rats within my rattery have been retired from the breeding program and will live their lives as my personal pets. Once they all live out their lives and I heavily sanitize my cages I will be adopting rats from other breeders to begin the breeding process again. I am so sorry for all those who are looking to adopt, There are other amazing breeders in Upstate and western new york you may go to.

Two litters of 7 were born last night and this morning to Amaryllis & Hela. They were both paired to Vyro! Looking for litter name Ideas!! So far thinking of doing The Witcher for one litter and weird paint color names for the other.... But maybe LETS VOTE!

1. Witcher Names (One Litter Good Guys, Other Litter Bad guys)
2. Harry Potter (One Litter good guys, Other litter Bad Guys)
3. Terrible Paint Color names (Ex: Awesome Avacado, Salmonella Salmon)

We should be having more babies born This evening from Miss Amethyst. Amethyst was born here at the Rattery on April 18th 2021 to my sweet One eyed girl Amaryllis. She is a Blue Agouti Rexoid Dumbo with a broken white Snip blaze and star on her forehead. She was Bred to My Sweet new Blue Variegated Standard coated Dumbo Male Vyro. These Babies will be a mixture of both Rexes, Standards and Possible Velveteen and Teddy Rex babies. Their Colors are currently unknown as I am Not sure If the Blue of Vyro is the same Gene that Amethyst carries or not so these babies could range from Agouti and Black to blues, blue Agoutis or maybe even fawns. This is Vyro's first breeding so its unknown what he carries. If you're interested please Inbox us!

There are Four Remaining babies left to reserve! However I'd like to first offer all my current Adopters (Those in the past and those currently waiting on this litter) If you've Adopted or are Adopting females I currently have one female baby left that no one has claimed and Im willing to include her FOR FREE if you already have females or you are getting a pair of females. I dont want to adopter her out by herself and I want her to go home to a good house She is one of the Hairless babies however so I know many wont be really into that but that is why Im offering her as Free because I just want her to be placed!

The Three males remaining are also only going to be allowed to be adopted out as a Trio because I do not want any of them to be alone either so the Trio will be discounted as well. ($70 instead of $90)

Babies are Doing well, I will likely be holding back the Smaller fawn and beige babies for an extra week due to how small they are I want to ensure the babies are healthy before they go to their furever homes as they are not growing as fast as the other litter is so Im hoping to ensure they have clean bills of health before anyone takes them home!

22 little lives were born today at The Mother of Rats Rattery! both mommas are doing well, Unsure which baby belongs to whom as they were together but they're seperated evenly for easier nursing and in seperate cages as Freydis wished to nurse 20 and Skadi wished to nurse 2... so.. xD sorry Freydis but Skadi wants her babies.

Babies incoming within the next few days. The Momma that was paired is Al'mora, The very first baby I ever raised from birth til now. She's a very VERY sweet girl and her babies will deffinitely inherit her personality or her fathers who is also a very sweet boy. these babies are expected to be Agouti and Black only with chances of Hooded, Solid color and Varigated with Blazes. Rex and Standard coats will be also within this litter! All babies will be Dumbo eared
