While we re-arrange & expand our saltwater systems to finish off the year, we will be making some changes in how we sell saltwater livestock & supplies.

Salt prices have gone up so the price of our topic marin pro reef pre-mixed saltwater will now be $18.49 per 5 gallons and the tropic marin classic sea salt pre-mixed saltwater will cost $14.99 per 5 gallons. We are testing out some other salt mixes to be offered, but right now I am only going to additionally add instant ocean reef crystals for $13.99 per 5 gallons & standard mix for $12.49 per 5 gallons. All pre-mixed saltwater goes through a micron filter to filter out any salt impurities, so nothing to worry about for any nasties you may experience yourself when mixing saltwater.

We are also offering pre-mixed medicated saltwater with copper power at 2.5 PPM for $16.29 per 5 gallons. This has helped a few customers in emergency situations where they needed to get the ammonia level down in a QT tank but didn’t have any water on hand.

We do have other salt mixes in testing such as aqua forest, but the parameters fluctuated during my storage testing so I’m running it back one more time to see if I can store it better. High KH mixes tend to evaporate nutrients a little quicker so they do not store well for more than a week or so usually. Ask any questions before using new mixes in your reef tank. If you want to try a new mix, do a smaller water change so your tank levels do not fluctuate too rapidly.

We are open 1-7 PM with lots of work being done. We hope to get this re-modeling done soon!

One of my favorite tanks I’ve set up for someone! Small, simple, but beautiful with so much diverse life.

Thanks to everyone who has been patient with us while we do some re-modeling to the tank layout.

Litchfield County Aquarium Society has been put on the back burners while I slowly build it up a little bit more, we’ve had so much interest with 4 premium members already signed up which makes me think we are going to have to get a bigger spot possibly. We are building a new separate page/website for the group to access information. I will post a write up & presentation on this site about my monthly talks so everyone can look back at the information since these talks will be LOADED with important information.

We will still be open 1-7 everyday as we continue to re-do our layout.

Current layout should be re-modeled by end of the month before we start setting up our larger systems! We will be back to daily posts once we are finished with the layout re-modeling 🙏🏼

We are back open 1-7 PM everyday! Lots of work being done in the store so please excuse us as we transition some of the tanks and expand a bit. We’ll be open Labor Day and do one more sale before our end of year sales. 10% off all livestock & supplies (pre-orders & water included cannot be stacked with other sales) starting today 9/1 till next Friday 9/8. Very busy at the store so please call ahead if you need a large amount of pre-made water

We’ll be open 1:30-6PM today for the last day of our 10% off livestock sale! We’ll be reopening on Wednesday (unless I make a last second trip to a vendor). Stay tuned, we’ll be back soon!

Sorry for my lack of posts. We are working hard on moving things around to expand the store once again. Things are taking much longer than expected but everything will be looking 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 really soon. We have some big changes coming to our tank layouts with the addition of our ponds

Bush fish! We will be closing next Sunday the 27th and then reopen on Wednesday the 30th. From today until Saturday the 26th we will be offering 10% off all in store live stock for some back to school sales. This discount applies to any pre-order done this week, so be sure to see if we can get the inhabitant (fish, coral, invert, etc) you’re searching for.

With our pond projects coming up I am starting to plan on moving some tanks around so I can have 3 racks of strictly freshwater fish and then open up the possibility of having 2 larger saltwater ponds 🤔

Moving fish, equipment, and some tanks in preparation for our pond setups. Have a lot in the works for the store which includes looking for a small warehouse to start selling more tanks & supplies online and possibly expand fish QT. Website is going to be heavily updated this week with new inventory and some appearance changes.

Litchfield County Aquarium Society is going to become a little more organized before I start doing the meetings, so unfortunately I’ll be pushing the meetings back to a TBD date. Good news is that this time will allow me to put in more effort meaning we will have a functioning website. Another big reason for pushing it back is the pond setups, as I’ll need to see the floor layout once these are established. I want to be able to display these information packed presentations I have prepared for our club and not half-ass it, so bare with me and we’ll soon have our in person meetings.

Lots of work being done but we are open everyday 1-7 PM. Plenty of healthy quarantined freshwater fish & pre-conditioned dewormed saltwater fish in stock and plenty more waiting in quarantine!

We will be closed this weekend and only open 5-7 pm on Monday. Going to hand select a few fish after I go see some family this weekend. 15% off of freshwater & saltwater livestock, 10% off of RODI water, and 10% off of supplies until we close on Friday at 7 PM!

Next project for expanding the store is stock ponds. I’m planning to add a minimum of 2 300 gallon ponds to the store, one being for turtles koi & goldfish and the other one for large saltwater fish. I’d like to get another one for freshwater stingrays but I won’t know how many I’ll be able to add till I get the first 2 in the store and measure everything out.

I will certainly be doing the koi pond so we can expand our African cichlid collection in the tanks that the goldfish/koi currently reside.

If I can only fit 2 300 gallons then I’m going to make the 2nd one saltwater for smaller sharks, rays, puffers, triggers, big angels, eels, etc.

Lots of planning coming up and there will be quite a few stock ponds coming to the store as we finish off the 2nd half of the year strong!

“Uh what are you doing”… more saltwater invertebrates arriving today! Send us any requests you have. We’re looking to bring in some new varieties of guppies, freshwater shrimp, and larger saltwater fish. All the fish and some of the inverts in todays shipment were special orders made by customers.

166 gallons of saltwater and 185 gallons of freshwater newly setup!

A lot of our corals sold before we were able to even open up to the public. We have some softies left over but we will be getting a lot more Euphyllias, acros, acans, Montis, and plenty of other SPS & LPS these upcoming weeks before Christmas!

Our second rack is up as well as our 75 gallon saltwater & 75 gallon discus displays at the register! Coming along nicely
