After much soul searching and many sleepless nights I have made the very difficult and sad decision of my life to discontinue Breeding 🥺😢

I will have Retired Adults/teenagers available and a couple of 5 month old kittens.

Please PM me if interested in providing them a loving furever home 🏡

Thank you to my Alora family and I’m going to miss all my cats very much.

Another amazing show today😻 many placing for both Adults and Kittens 😻

And soooo very proud of Alora Sierra my little 4 month old Brown Spotted girl! She took out a Best in Show 😻🤩❤️

Another show yesterday with amazing results for all. Sage has now moved up into the adults and competing against Justice! Both places in Top 10 in all 3 rings which is amazing 🤩 Little one’s Sierra and Willow both did very well considering only their 2nd show 😻🥰🤩

Pumpkin bubs 😻 all vet checked, desexed and microchipped yesterday and all passed with flying colours 🤩 very impressed with the size of these babies for 10 weeks old. All over 1200g and Mr big boy blue over 1300g!! Big beautiful healthy babies 😻 Pumpkin has done an amazing job raising these strong bubs especially a litter of 8 😻

Justice has done well today at the QICC show, 1x 4th in Top 10 entires out off 22 Cats 😻 and 4 x Best in breed 😻 ( he was only entire mist so no competition for best in breed)

Let’s talk breeding registrations for cats and make it ultra simple for new kitten or potential new kitten owners.

In Australia there are 3 main governing bodies, these are CCCA, ACF and ANCATS These control rules, regulations, breeding standards and changes to breed standards, they run a national show which is annually.

Under these there are registration bodies, these for QLD are FCCQ, QCFA, QICC, CQI and ANCATS. These are who your kitten will be registered with, if your kitten is not registered with one of these then it’s pedigree (exception being imported cats) will not be valid for transfer between breeding bodies and you may not be able to show your kitten.
These registration bodies run shows regularly and hold a database of points achieved by individual cats.

Kittens that are registered with WCF or TICA and are born in Australia will have papers, however if you wish to show or breed with these cats then their papers may not be accepted by the breed bodies listed above, thus rendering the cat not able to be transferred to be shown or able to have kittens born registered. TICA and WCF are not recognised associations here in Australia.

It is a buyer beware…….please check who your breeder is registered with, check their prefix and registration number. Do your research as there are so many scammers out there with papers that are “dodgy”, if you are concerned check directly with the registration body before purchase.

When purchasing a new pet, some new owners may have a preconceived notion that their cats and kittens can adapt to changes in their surroundings immediately, this is not always the case. Please see the informative graphic below as a guide which uses the 3/3/3

It is understandable that they are eager to create a bond with their new arrival, or the children may want to start playing with a new kitten immediately, but we need to take a step back and see it from the cat/kittens' perspective. Kittens are very sensitive, and leaving their mother and littermates to go to a new home can be incredibly stressful.
Changes in scents, environment, routine, and people can cause anxiety, fear, and insecurity, leading to behavioural problems like hiding and litter box aversion.

I have heard people state their kitten is attacking them. On further investigation, they had interpreted their kitten hissing as aggressive behaviour. Unfortunately, this is a common misconception.
Hissing is a defensive response exhibited by a cat or kitten that feels threatened, insecure, vulnerable or antagonised.
They are telling you they are scared or they feel threatened if this happens; you need to give them space. The worst thing to do is try and catch or chase the kitten around the room and hold it against its will. Do not stare directly into their eyes; this is a sign of aggression.

To help kittens adapt to their new home and reduce their anxiety, it's crucial to create a safe, comfortable, and predictable environment, make sure you have a small room ready for their arrival where they can feel safe and secure. Once they feel confident and comfortable in their new surroundings, allow them to explore other areas of your home. Remember to provide plenty of positive reinforcement and offer socialisation opportunities.
