“WHY do I breed? I’ve gotten this question a lot over the past year from friends, family, and potential clients- I’m here to further explain. I breed not only for myself but for my love of the breed. I, as a breeder, get use creativity when selecting studs or dams with certain DNA 🧬, which to me is as much an art as it is a science.

You have the dog management, where you feel like your putting pieces of a puzzle together but it’s just a new dog pen, or loving on your new puppies, organizing supplies, feeding on your set schedule, giving your babies their vitamins and supplements, and just giving your kennel and dogs as much love as you can.

And then you have the business side of things, because honestly when you jump into the breeding world you are an entrepreneur at that very second. You have to sell your kennel, your dogs and yourself.

What sets me apart from everyone else? What makes me different from other breeders? Well with me you’re going to get QUALITY. Anyone can spend $1-2k on a dog but will it be quality or will it look like a chihuahua?

Here at Le Luxe, I strive to give you the highest quality pet via ethical breeding. I believe in my babies having the best medical care available and I always advise my clients of the same. We’re not just selling you a pet, we’re matching you with a forever family member.

You have to invest into your kennel and dogs not only that but you have to compensate yourself for your time that you put into everything you’re building. Breeding is not easy by any means, and to anyone that thinks it is is CRAZY. It’s waking up every 2-3 hours when you’re whelping a new litter or not even sleeping at all. It’s getting involved in the dirty work, cleaning p**p, throw up and other accidents. It’s missing family functions sometimes. It’s spending hundreds on food and vet bills monthly. Because when you think about breeding CORRECTLY you have to take into consideration… health testing, dna testing, progesterone testing, reverse progesterone testing, c-sections, emergency visits… the list could go on and on. But my point is it’s not easy by any means. And it takes special people to be good breeders.
When it comes to my buyers.. your success is my success. I’m here to help you understand and support you.
Dog breeding to me is all about creation and creativity.
I just want to say even though it gets overwhelming at times because as a breeder there is so much to figure out, decisions to be made etc it’s all worth it when you see the creation that you have made putting dna together or sires and dams together. Seeing your business grow.

So I hope this post gives y’all a sort of feel as to why I breed, and why I chose to do this. And to understand that breeding is hard work. It is a job in itself but at the same time it’s such a rewarding feeling. So when people look at me stupid because they think breeding is stupid, or I’m wasting money.. breeding to me gives me the lifestyle I love, giving to the world in the most wonderful way, filling voids of families, but also gives me adrenaline, emotion, and allows me to be creative.
