Just a little update on this rainy afternoon here at the home away from home Beaches has been sleeping in the house at night and the last week it was hot 🥵/ dry days so she would say outside and enjoy the mud holes and then after dinner she heads back into the house with a 1” of mud all over her, so out comes the brush to get must of the mud off her, so today rain a blessing she’s in the house relaxing. I no I am only fostering her but she has stolen my heart and reminds me of Nickie who I rescued when she was 1yr old in 2000 and lived with me for 20yrs. So Beaches will be every hard to let go but I need too so I can help more piggies in need.

Ok here’s where I am at 7 piggies that are my rescue’s and 3 piggies that I am fostering for their mom and now fostering for Eastern Snouts Adoption and Rehoming first was Berry just for a few weeks he heading today to his new home and yesterday got Beaches. So I’m wanting to help save more piggies but too be able to it’s time to ask for Donations I am a 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax deductible

#7 Rodney 2yr old intact male December 12,2022 I get a call from Patrick County Animal Control to see if I could take him in because he’s owner could not keep him fenced in and was destroying all the yards in the area so I said yes so that afternoon the owner calls that they had just captured him and they bring him down from Woolwine VA. The poor guy had both hind legs with 5” inches of skin hanging from his legs so it looked like dogs had attacked him. I was so glad after seeing him that I agreed to take him in, because financially at my limit. Got him neutered his legs healed up no hair on them and he has gotten better with not being scared of the dogs

#4 PeeWee 6mouths old, I get a message from Lynn that this little guy is in a Animal shelter in Blacksburg Virginia and needs a home. September 10, 2022 go pick him up and of course he’s not neutered. #5 Josey 1yr old went to Tractor Supply to get pig supplies and was told about a local farmer had him dumped off in his cow’s pasture and he was afraid that predators would kill him, September 19,2022 I go to pick him up at the farm and meet the farmer which he tells me Josey’s out in the cow pasture, I am thinking 🤔 omg we will be here for hours trying to catch him the farmer said no he will come when call at that time he had no name so we yell out for piggy and he comes running I had the crate ready with treats in it he got to us and went right into the crate “I still have a hard time believing how easy that was” and of course he was not neutered. #6 Sizzle 5yr old sprayed girl in Pilot VA a inside pig now living in a barn, because mom got a divorce and living with her parents and their dogs attached Sizzle so they throw her out into the barn, so November 5, 2022 She’s here at her forever home. I just got a well drilled after the being shut off by the neighbor who was supplying water, the good news out of that is I went from less than a gallon min. To 10 gallons min. So Here I am again being blessed 😇 by God’s grace to help animals

My second rescue piggy is Frankie I get a call from Patrick County animal pound ok shelter morning of January 4,2022 that they have a pig in need of a home because that night the temperature 🤒 was 21degree and he was being held at the Rotary Club opened sided barn, so of course I had no choice but to save him from another night of cold 🥶 and all bye him self and of course he was not neutered.

I moved into Robyn’s Haven caretaker’s apartment August 2021 with Nickie 20yrs old rescued in 2001 Patrick Springs Virginia and Daisy 19yrs old rehomed with us in 2012 from Wake Forest NC and of course Roscoe. At that time all were inside/ outside pigs after Daisy’s death Roscoe would not come back inside.

Good morning 😃 everyone.
Here’s Roscoe he’s the first one to be rescued by Robyn’s Haven January 3,2021 from Blacksburg Virginia, he was 3yrs old not neutered living in a 5’x5’ pen outside with 6” of mud did have a trap over the pen and a crate for 2yrs after living in the house his first year. Since he’s been here he’s lost some weight working on more but he’s not much on moving around like to lay in his hay. Here’s him arriving and now

I no it’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything. I have been busy getting Robyn’s Haven off and running of course when I started it was just going to be transporting animals from flooded/ fire areas to safety, but of course “God” had other plans for me so the last two years I have built a living space with in the 6,000 sf steel building where I am housing/ caring for 4 dogs and 7 potbelly pigs that I have rescued and 4 potbelly pigs at this time fostering. So now it’s time for me to mainly stay on Robyn’s Haven page and not my own page. I’m not the best at this Facebook stuff but will try to do better.

This is Daisy waiting for the Vet to send her home to my late wife, her sister Tollie and all her friends over the past 14yrs she has been with me. On the night of January 17, after 4days of not being able to walk she was laying in bed with Nickie and Roscoe running all night tell about 4am when Nickie got up and lay down next to her she stopped running, but started running again when Nickie got up to eat breakfast. That running was a sign that she was wanting to go home. Daisy was 22yrs old and her sister Tollie we sent her home in 2017 after losing all her teeth she was 19yrs old. Both were a great blessing for me to have them in my life.

Nola November 2021

Miss Nola was brought to us all the way from New Orleans, Louisiana. Our friend was visiting there and found this sweet little kitten to be a stray in the neighborhood. The only information we gathered was that her original owner had adopted her, but ended up putting her out & abandoning her when his landlord wouldn't allow pets in his apartment.

Nola came straight up to her and her little eyes said "can you please help me find a better family?" Yvette flew her home to Virginia with her, she adjusted super quickly and was so happy to be cared for and loved on. We are in the process of getting her vetted, spayed, and rehomed 💖

Luna August 2021

Luna is our second rescue, she was dropped off by the mailman to our property in August of 2021. Luna had been roaming free all over our town and kept jumping in their carrier. We took Luna in, had her bathed and fed, and posted on local facebook groups looking for her owner but had no luck.

Luna is such a sweet girl, & so deserving of a good home! We facilitated having Luna spayed in October and rehomed. She is a happy, playful pup and we are so happy to have had the chance to help her. 💓

Roscoe: January 2021

Roscoe was our first rescue under Robyn's Haven. This is Roscoe's story-
A young woman bought this pig as a baby around 4 years ago. She had him in the house but when he got older, since they did not have him castrated, the family put him out in a small pen where he had been ever since. The girl got married and moved out, leaving Roscoe with her folks in Blacksburg, VA. They put him on Craigslist, which is where a mutual friend came across his picture. It's the usual, sad story of impulse buying of animals.

We were able to rescue Roscoe, bring him home, facilitate having him neutered, and moved to a safe, happy home where he has two pot belly pig sisters and a couple dog friends. ❤️
