❗️❗️Ribbon Shipment Update ❗️❗️

We had about 10 ribbons/awards go missing. I have been tracking those down and trying to figure out why our system did not send out our email tracking/why the packages stalled in a variety of locations.

If you have an award outstanding (not boxing day) from events we will be reaching out as quickly as possible to get you updated tracking info (either directly, in reply to a ton of emails/messages i’m sorting through, or you will receive a new tracking email- maybe both.)

We have a ton of international participants and I wanted to do sonething fun, so we hope to have you participate in our first 💥Flash Specialty💥!

At this minute the first time zone in the world turned to December 26th- Boxing Day! So until the last time zone leaves the 26th post a photo or short video of your dog (or pet) in a box. Only the participants through 5:59am CST December 27th will be able to receive ribbons.

It's an unprecedented year. This is an unprecedented price. You will never see it again, not even close.

To answer some questions in advance, yes, the timeframe is absolutely firm. No, you can't get the discount either a second before or a second after that time. Note that the time is CENTRAL STANDARD time. Adjust accordingly. :)

Yes, you can register as many dogs as you like at that price and no, a dog does not need to be 6 months old to be registered. They do need to be born though. :)

A quick update!!

Zeta has us a bit busy. Everyone is good, everything is ok, but specialty processing and shipments are all on hold as computers are down, shipping is stalled, etc.

Nothing that hasn’t happened a few times this year already, just annoying, but we are all ok and getting everything back up and running for you all!

Happy National talk like a pirate day!

It’s raining and we lost our pirate ship! We heard that others were having a hard time looking for the treasure because of other pending adventures too.

Because of this we will be extending the TD Treasure Hunter event until the end of November.

Our next event will not start until after that. We have also made the decision that event specialties will be a standard of 4 months, for a chance of three a year. This will not include or affect flash, season, permanent events, etc. but it will give everyone time, regardless of general situation, to work through the events fully without worrying about making a 1-2 month timeline.

So..... happy hunting everyone!!!!

Say hello to the newest addition to our virtual ribbon collection!

These ACT ribbons will be going up in Rugged Mutts this week.

We have a single title rosette in teal and white, two title tabs (in white) for ACT 1 and 2, and pink qualifying ribbons. We went this route as we know there are less individuals participating in the ACT program and to try out done versatility. You can add 1 or both tabs to a single rosette or you can grab 2.

Welcome behind the scenes!

We preprint blank certificates for the specialties so that I can quickly and efficently manage all the paperwork. Everything going on pushed some things, but i got all our new certificates today and now i just need to file them. Some of these are available (bet you can guess) ... some will be released in September as a seasonal specialty and there’s another one in there too!

We are finally getting virtual agility ribbons to match our rally ribbons. I want them on the same order as a rerun I need and the intermediate rally rosette addition.

- The color will be paired with white ribbons and I’ll add the rally ribbons in the comments so you can get an idea of the look. Novice will look like the existing rally ribbon. Intermediate will be ribbons flipped (same for rally).

🎉Trick Dog Masters🎉
I have been waiting to share this since we launched!
Say hello to our first permenant specialty and the idea/project that sparked our specialties.
For anyone who has done this is going to look a little familiar, but brand new. One thing I’ve stuggled with as a trainer and handler is what’s next. You get your trick titles then what? After you hit a certain point I’ve had a desire to continue to teach additional tricks, so this rewards that drive.
Teach 40 tricks at each level and earn the corresponding Masters rosette. Once you earn all four we will include the masters sash with the last completed level!
If you teach all tricks on the active DMWYD! list for a level we have a “Top Trick Dog” title tab that can be attached to your rosette, each for one level or all... if you earn them at all levels we will include a tab for your sash when you earn your last Top Trick Dog tab.
So new or old, Trick dog champion or working on novice- go at your pace, earn them in any order, earn one or earn them all. This program isn’t going anywhere. Who will be the first to earn each level? The first to Champion? Is it you?

Another great announcment for the day. What is better than ribbons you ask? Certificates!!!

We are streamlining the process but with almost 200 certificates to make for the covid event it took me a bit. Instead of worrying about file size in all of your emails we uploaded all certificates next to your names on the title holders list.

All you need to do is click “PDF” by each name and the certificate eill populate.

- To get a printed copy you can write in the comments of any future submissions/order (like treasure hunter 😉). Tell us you want your covid certificate and we will include it.
- If you need something on your certificate altered please pm this page.
- We will be sending out email notifications as well so don’t worry if you forget, we got you!
- They aren’t ready, but we will be adding an int. Paper/certificate size (digital only). This wont alter our printed certificates, but I know some of you have different sized frames/books/binders. Please tell us the paper size you would prefer so we can take that into consideration.

Hello everyone, we are doing a thing. I have grown up in NOLA and have volunteered and worked for the National WWII Museum. We love supporting them and doing fun things. Usually this run is human only, but since it’s virtual I’m bringing it to the dogs!!

Clara, my service dog, worked with me at the PT Boat, and Sassenach and her brothers are all named after PT Boats because if that. So here we are with a fun opportunity for you...

You can join me, Sassenach, and Clara- we are going to walk/mush (by dog age). Our team is “PT Boat Pups” and we welcome you to join us or participate individually, even start your own team if you’d like. So no matter where you are in the world why don’t you join us?

Participants have until September 10th to complete the Liberty Road virtual course.

The indivudual course is from Sainte-Mere-Eglise in Normandy, France to Saint Malo in Brittany, France (100 miles/161 km) or you can continue (individual or team) on to Bastogne, belgium which was liberated on September 10, 1944 and held strong during the Battle of Bulge. (712 miles/1147 km).

The 2020 Liberty Road Challenge is on Saturday July 4, 2020 to Thursday September 10, 2020. It includes the following events: Liberty Road 712 Mile TEAM Challenge, Liberty Road 100 Mile INDIVIDUAL Challenge, and Liberty Road 712 Mile INDIVIDUAL Challenge.

Real talk!

Some of y’all know me personally, but even then you may not realize that all my childhood ribbons were lost or damaged in Katrina. Then I’ve lost some to puppy raising, moving over a dozen times.....and who knows what. But let’s be real- we all love our awards and the stories they tell about our time with our dogs. And this is how this relates to Sundog-

We will ALWAYS help replace awards. I don’t care if you washed it, bleached it, the puppy ate it, the cat turned it into a tassle, you gave it to bigfoot, lost it in a move, whatever.

✔️ PM the page. We will talk you throuh it.

✔️All flats in our stock can be added to any outgoing mail from Sundog/Rugged Mutts at no cost. So rally legs, pointed standard/honors ribbons, etc. if i have them i’ll just throw one in with the next outgoing item you have from us at no cost.

✔️ Rosettes/sashes (yes you read that right) and flats we don’t have stocked will have a re-make fee. Basically I’ll do everything i can, give you cost/processing only. So it will be a custom price based off what was damaged. It does take time to turn those over, flats may still be free if i can eat the cost by adding them to a different order, but I can add reprints to orders for stock etc. so we got you. The larger ribbons we will minimze cost as much as possible, but I don’t want to promise they can be free sonce some can be pretty costly and they all vary in price on our end (flats are pretty uniform no matter what).

✔️You want it asap? Cool. We can do that. You can pay shipping on flats/in stock ribbons and we won’t wait we will just let you cover shipping costs and send it out right away.

So we get it. Ribbons, certificates, rosettes, sashes. Others may not get it, but we do. Do not ever be afraid to reach out to us about this. We want you to have those memories. We know life is unpredictable and weird. And while we wont let people just buy awards, and we don’t order extras on purpose we will have a few spares for re-mailing/damage, etc. we will always make sure you can get a replacement.

P.s. If you have a cool story about damaged ribbons, I do want to hear it.

Well, you all have waited pretty patiently and we are happy to announce that we are adding certificates for all of our programs. This was always part of the plan for our initial launch, but was not ready for our covid-19 launch.

Regardless we will be making everyone who participated in the covid event a digital pdf that they can print themselves and future submissions will come with an event/specialty specific certificate. These are the TD Covid-19 and TD Covid-19H certificates. You only have a little over a week before you will see the newest specialty.

We will start including printed copies in covid submissions that have not yet been shipped, but this will mean that you will see a few days delay while we get the printing finalized. There will be no additional charge for any covid participants for the certificates themselves. You will all have the following options:

1. You get your digital copy and can print at home (we will be emailing these out to the emails you used for your submission payments). We will post when we have competed this so if you don't see one you can pm the page and we will provide it then.
2. You can order a printed copy and we will mail it out (note it will be almost like covering your submission again because of shipping (ewwwww). We won’t charge for the certificate, but shipping/processing will need too be covered, but you won't ever be forced to participate in a different event - we just don't think that is cool.
3. Anyone who participates at any future date can write a note in their submission payment order and we will include the certificate at no additional cost to the outgoing award from that specialty/event.
4. We can do pick up for those local to our Kansas and New Orleans trainers by appointment.

I won't lie, #3 is the winner here, in my humble opinion. I wish there was a way to just mass ship them all at no cost to anyone but there just isn't. it would cost us over $150 in shipping alone based of participation.

Run/Class Booking Tutorial:

We want to cover a few things so everyone can have a pleasant experience.

We have been improving a lot of features and tools as we have moved our sport activities from Sundog Training to this page. One of the complete overhauls has been our booking system for any events that have a limited number of spaces available (classes, runs, courses, etc.).

We understand new systems/processes can be frustraiting and we are here for all of you through this. If you EVER need help pm the page. We will book for you if needed, don’t be afraid to reach out. That said this system allows us to book, collect payments, schedule multiple trainers and events simultaniously in different locations, etc. There is a lot more flexability, organization, and support here - giving us a lot more time to spend focusing on you and your dogs!!

That said here is a quick walkthrough of the new booking system:

- You book for each dog. There is no multi-dog option because each dog needs their own class/time. If you are participating with multiple dogs each dog needs to be booked in their own window. This also means for our families with reactive dogs, puppies, or other activities they could book different dogs at different times to fit their needs.

- The cal. has a set number of slots. If a time is booked up it is because the cap has been reached and that cap was set for the safety and comfort of our participants so everyone gets the most out of their experience.

- This same program allows us to book 1 on 1 sessions that don’t conflict with group sessions or overbook areas/trainers/sports on the farm or in New Orleans. For everyone’s safety and comfort, especially now, this is a huge feature.

- After you fill in your info you are taken to a landing page that will look like this (image 1). You will see your booking, info and two links. One says “schedule another run” if you need to book another dog this one is for you. If you don’t, go to the next line. It states “pay for your run.”

- Clicking “Pay for your run” will take you to a customized page for your event (image 2). This page will change with event types but it will allow you to pay for your runs no matter which facility you are participating with, if we have multiple events, etc. it is 100% customizable to fit the sundog pack needs. You simply select your run and it will bring you to a payment platform (image 3).

- On your payment link you will be able to confirm your sundog location via the address, and the title of the payment will match your event. The best thing about this is that we can send you this link without altering your booking or making you rebook if for some reason you need to reschedule or you had an issue and want to check before payment. All you need to do is PM us Sundog Sport.

We really hope that this tutorial and added info will help you now and possibly with future bookings. A system like this frees up a lot of time we spend purely scheduling inefficiently across all activities and all locations. This frees us up to give you more 1 on 1 assistance to work this and other systems and more time for classes, events, and other activities.

Check out these beautiful ribbons for Sundog Sport. We have a new title, novice, rosette, a perfect score double layered ribbon, and a pinked leg ribbon. You can get packages or any of the ribbons individually.

We wanted to offer a way for everyone participating in the virtual rally program with AKC to have group ribbons. You can check them out in the shop now. They arrived yesterday and all pre-orders who had already supplied proof had their orders shipped out with tracking.

We hope to add agility ribbons shortly and are looking at some other options per a few requests.

Don’t forget we have the specialty ribbons that you get for completed TD Covid-19 submissions through the end of the month, we will have their ribbons for the new event starting july 1st, and we have AKC trick dog ribbons available free with those who submit through Sundog Sport and available for anyone looking to fill out their ribbon collection who couldn’t get a ribbon from their evaluator or needs a replacement for any reason.

Thank you to everyone who has been using us for your Do More With Your Dog! Trick, conditioning, and Stunt dog titles and trials.

I (Kelly) have evaluated over 50 submitted trick dog titles for all of you since the start of the year.

That doesn’t include our stunt trials, conditioning titles, AKC trick dog titles, specialty titles, or any mentouring/assistances for instructors or TDCH.

Thank you to everyone for letting us be a part if your journey. We cant wait to see even more of you submit and continue on your training adventures with your companions!!

Our Rally ribbons have been shipped!!

That means preorders are running to a close. All preorders will be mailed out the day the ribbons arrive!

Future orders will be processed on our regular schedule, so you won’t miss out on anything but it will take me some time to get everything stocked and processed ❤️

* this requires submitted proof of earning. Those pre-ordered without proof will not be shipped without submitted proof. So to be eligible you’d need to submit your proof before the shipment arrives.

It's coming! We settled on our next specialty theme Check out this hint and the colors we will be using on the standard, honors, and champion rosettes for our next big adventure!

We will announce the name soon, we are ordering ribbons this week for this event, and we will release the page, event, ribbons, and certificates with the launch on July 1st! This specialty will run until Sept. 30th and October 1st will launch the next temporary specialty.

We are attempting to run permanent specialties, at least one temporary specialty, and we also have plans for multiple seasonal/reoccuring specialties, and a flash specialty that will be under 24 hrs that I am beyond excited for. So keep an eye out on the horizon for at least one perminant anouncment this month and another addition shortly following that.

We want to here from you!

In the spirit of celebrating our original planned launch we want you to tell us what ideas you want to see for any trick (or other sport) specialty. You can not only suggest themes for event specialties, but permanent options, team up events, or even just a general hint of a possible option.

Give it your best shot! We will be launching a permanent specialty this month and will pick at least one suggested event to launch in our upcoming group... you never know. Maybe well add a few extras into the mix....
