We are in desperate need of oxbow garden select pellets and we would like to add round lake farm in the mix to transition.🌾

We adventured out today and bought a bale of hay from Dayville farm. The total was $39! We also bought lots of veggies from the chef store. I think the total was $75. I will have to double check. 🌾

🏥MEDICAL UPDATE🏥

Queen Poppy: She is using her back left leg. X-ray showed a non union fracture. You can see the hip and back leg looks like it is not attached. After further investigation it seems her body has formed soft tissue between the bones and it has created her to be able to use it. She will never use it like a healthy Guinea pig and she will need special care. According to the vet this is a miracle that soft tissue was formed. Her bone density has improved slightly. The plan will be to keep her and Baby Ruth together with Foster mom Maria as sanctuary Queens! We are pleased with the positive change of this kind of fracture. A miracle! 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

Queen Berta: She had a liver panel drawn to make sure she did not have any liver damage from the cedar bedding. No signs of liver damage. She has her bottom incisors growing at a very slight angle. We will keep an eye on them to make sure they correct themselves with lots of hay chewing. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

This adventure cost $308.25. We have not received any positive change to put towards the medical bill. If you could spare some we always greatly appreciate it. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

🌾ROUND LAKE FARM PELLETS🌾

I found Round Lake Farm back in 11/2023. They were pretty new and it was hard to find their products. I was looking for a pellet that had the least amount of ingredients. A pellet that was more natural. A pellet that could lessen the oxalate build up that Guinea pigs can get in the body and cause bladder stones. 🌾

I wanted to know why their Guinea pig pellets had slightly higher calcium levels than other brands. I had the opportunity to speak directly to the company’s small animal nutritionist. Kimberly explains that the calcium is properly balanced with other nutrients that play a vital role in over all health. That they eliminated ingredients that contain higher oxalate to help decrease the possible oxalate build up in the body. 🌾

With my own research , I found that the pellets are higher in fiber, higher in protein, less fat, and higher in vitamin c compared to other brands. They are the most natural pellet that I have found so far. Our rescue will be switching our Royals to pellets. 🌾

To make this switch we need the help of our Guinea pig guardian angels. We are currently low on Guinea pig pellets. We need maybe five big bags of oxbow garden select and round lake farm pellets to mix with them to start this transition. Please send some pellets if you can.🌾

🏥QUEEN OREO🏥

Her hair loss has increased tremendously. We know at this point we can only manage her symptoms with medications. We have found some natural tinctures that can help with hair loss if it has become a widespread systemic problem. We would like the chance to try this for Queen Oreo. The tinctures we need are poke root, wild indigo and yellow dock. We have the other two that are needed. We would need $55 to obtain them from Amazon. We will temporarily add them to our Amazon wish list. We hope this will work and help her feel a little better. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

💜A FEW THINGS💜

🏥MEDICAL PAYMENT: Our medical payment is due Saturday. We still need $519. Pretty please help with this stress. We appreciate all your love and support. 🏥

🌾NEW PELLETS: We are wanting to switch all the Royals over to pellets. We are waiting to hear back from Kimberly the small animal nutritionist about the higher calcium values. We have been exited about this company since 11/2023 when we first found them. We did not have a way for our guinea pig guardian angels to purchase them for our Royals. They now have a website for you to purchase and send them our way. We are very excited about this positive change. 🌾

🎟️EVENT: We have found a potential location to re start our monthly nail trim/ Photo Booth event. We are lacking spare time to help with nail trims and feel it would be more beneficial to have a monthly slot some where. Of course our dream is to finish our garage like we first intended to and have all the events here at the rescue. Maybe we will get funding someday to do so. Until that dream comes true, we will explore other options. Thank you Emma for finding a possible place. Please let us know in the comments if this is something you would come to. 🎟️

💻PROGRAM: We are starting to enter all our Royals in a structured computer program to keep everything in one place. We will have our applications, medical records, foster information, a way to pay for adoptions and much more. Of course this will take an abundance of time to do so. 👑QUEEN BROOKIE & QUEEN GALAXY👑

The last three weeks the Queens have been in foster care. This was to help them with human interaction and make room for the six boys that came into rescue. They were making milestones very quickly. Foster family was going above and beyond giving them the best care. When I picked them up for the adoption meet and greet, foster mom mentioned that Queen Brookie was picking on Queen Galaxy a little bit. She also mentioned the decrease in water intake but she made sure the veggies had extra water on them. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

We weighed the girls after we got home. Queen Galaxy was down 71 grams and Queen Brookie was down 58 grams. We notified the potential adoption family to let them know we had to pause the meet and greet. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

We spoke to one of our exotic vets. There was no obvious symptoms we could see or feel. The information from foster mom, new environment, and most likely feeling stressed, helped come up with a plan. She advised sub q fluids, extra vitamin C, and vitamin b complex. If not better by mid week make an appointment. 👑♾️💜🤟🫶

Today they are both up in weight by 26 grams. We are so thankful for all our positive relationships. Foster mom’s information was very helpful. Our vet team is incredible. Our guinea pig guardian angels who love and support our kingdom are beyond measurable. Thank you! 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

💜SINGLE KINGS💜

We currently have ten single Kings. One of them is altered. We are working very hard at scheduling and having play dates with other Royals. Play dates can take up a lot of time to ensure they are a great fit. We are trying our best to put the time in that is needed to help our Royals find their forever castles. We are going to have discussions and look into what it would take to provide a Royal friendship camp. Maybe staying at camp for a few days would help give them more time to build a bond with one another and try others if one fails. We have to look into this idea from all angles to ensure that it could be possible.💜♾️👑🫶🤟

We have King Chowder and King Mickey currently sharing a castle. So far they are bonding well. We will let you know if this one is successful. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

🏥QUEEN BESTIE🏥

We found her hunched over Friday evening. She had some gas in her belly and was very uncomfortable. We started to treat her gas right away. I stayed up with her all night Friday night nursing her back to health. She is slowly getting better. Still has some gas this am. Since she is getting better we are going to continue what we are doing and watch her very carefully. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

👑TRIAL👑

Saturday we had scheduled an adoption for Queen Brookie and Queen Galaxy. We got them back from foster care and they had lost too much weight to release them without further investigation. Foster family took very good care of them so we need to rule out medical. 👑♾️💜🤟🫶

We were very thankful the family was very understanding. The family is brand new to the Guinea pig world and was very excited. They decided to take Prince Solas and Prince Alistair as a trial to explore the Royal experience. We are very excited to guide and be a part of this journey. A positive path that is meant to be. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

💜PLAY DATE💜

King Rugmen’s family knows how important it is for him to have a castle mate. We have met him twice to help find him one. The first time once home they fell apart after a couple hours. The second time King Phillip was with him for two days.💜♾️👑🤟🫶

We looked King Rugmen over and the hair around his back legs on the under side was thin. He was sneezing and had some crust on his nose. He has battled URI off and on through out his life. Owner’s had recently brought him to the vet and he was cleared of his URI. We could tell he was not feeling well. We have put a pause on play dates until he is feeling better. He will see the vet this week. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

🏥QUEEN POPPY🏥

On 2/6 it will be four weeks since she broke her left back leg. That means she needs an x-ray to see how she is healing. Watching her she uses her back leg like nothing has happened. We are very hopeful that it has healed up nicely. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

The majority of our Royals are ongoing medical cases. We have a big medical payment every month. It is a big part of rescue stress. We have $110 in our rescue account and medical payment is due 2/9. Please send positive change so we can keep our Royals on a positive path. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

Prince Emmrich came into our kingdom with six other boys. They were found abandoned outside an apartment building next to a dumpster. Prince Emmrich had a vet appointment and was cleared for adoption. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

Foster Janet was able to set up a play date with King Gus. King Gus had a castle mate that had passed and needed a friend. This play date was a huge success. King Gus’s servants decided to adopt Prince Emmrich and they named him Prince Hognob. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

We are very excited for them to share a Forever Castle. Enjoy your new family little man where you will always know you are a Royal.💜♾️👑🤟🫶

🏥QUEEN OREO🏥

She has Cushing disease and she has done pretty well since the last dose increase. In the last two months her weight has slowly decreased every week. She is down 50 grams. We made her some critical care today to help increase her weight. She was very happy to eat it from a spoon or the bowl. We are going to keep a very close eye on her for now and make a vet appointment if we need to. 💜♾️👑🫶🤟

Weekly weight checks are very important. Kitchen scales with a little Tupperware bin for them to rest in are perfect for this task. You can catch illness early and get them to the vet sooner if you notice a loss of more than 50 grams. Especially if they loose it in a very short amount of time. 💜♾️👑🤟🫶

💜GUINEA PIG WHISPERER💜

Queen Brookie and Queen Galaxy, our mother daughter duo, is in foster care trying to break out of their shell. We had an opportunity to send them to our Guinea Pig Whisperer. We have so many videos we will post on their journey and how they are becoming brave and loving human interactions. 💜♾️👑🫶🤟

👀RESCUE MISSION👀We are in shock!! So many mixed emotions! I promise I will write about it all soon. But for now, Oh my we got her!!! 💜

👀RESCUE MISSION👀Tony and I built basically a 2x3 c&c style cage with a bottom attached. I zip tide cardboard on the flooring and placed a pee pad on top so I can change it out if need be. The top has cardboard with water proof plastic to hopefully keep this warm and dry. It is full of hay, water bottle and a bowl of pellets. If you see movement you can close the door. I have two tunnels leading up to the door. For now you can use a tunnel to keep the door shut. I will find some kind of clips to place on the door to use if they are in it so it can be clipped shut. I need as many volunteers as possible to stop by and check the cage to see if they are in it to close them in and trap them. The more people who do so the more chances we have of saving them. Pretty Please do this act of kindness. I want them to be saved by Guinea pig guardian angels instead of any alternatives. Please only leave proper veggies in or very close to the cage. We need them to stay in this area. Tonight I only saw the black one. 👀RESCUE MISSION👀 Today the area was cleared more. This is very hard to do on your belly half way under a fence. I created a flat area to place hay and hides. I am going to zip tie some c&c grids together with one end slightly open to place around the hay in hopes to trap them in that area. They will not go near traps or carriers no matter what is placed in them. While I was under the fence I thought I saw a third Guinea pig. To my surprise is was a rat. It is very hard to wiggle my way back out from under the fence once I am under it.💜👑♾️ I was thinking about this situation today after Queen Creature was surrendered. I promised Queen Miley I would honor her by bringing in more joy, love and laughter. I believe we are. We have Joy, we just need to capture love and laughter. 💜👑♾️ This task has felt impossible. I am finding creative ways to help make it possible. We are so close to holding them. I just know it! 💜👑♾️
