If you have cat food your cat doesn't like or would like to make a donation, our drop-off point is the Warren House Vets on Anchor Road in Rochester.

🐱 Gremlin (Ginny) 🐱

Today Gremlin is going for a little operation to remove some dead cancerous skin from his ears.

Sadly, white cats are prone to skin cancer when they sunbathe too much without pet sunblock. As Gremlin lived mainly outside for many years sadly this is the case.

As an older cat its always a bit of a worry sending them for an operation, but he is a strong lad who will hopefully sail through.

Please send lots of love his way today ❤️🙏

🦃 Parsnip just cannot understand why "people" can be so unfriendly these days. He is doing his best to impress them. Displaying his feathers, gobbling. Some "people" are just so unappreciative 😆

🦃 8 days old 🦃

They love to cuddle. Like all babies they seek their mum.

They have a brooder plate in their cage to mimic the warmth of being under their mums wings. But it isnt the same.

I try my best to teach them what they need to know. I try and give them the love they need. But it isnt the same.

But 1 thing they do have a safe home for their life, no matter how long that is. And I will do all I can to make them happy and keep them safe ❤️

We are always in need of cat food, so if you have some cat food in the back of your cupboard that your cat refuses to eat, please consider donating it to the sanctuary cats.

We also need towels over the winter, so if you have any old clean towels please also consider dropping these off for us 🥰🙏

Today I broke the news to Parsnip that he isn't the only Turkey in town 🦃. He didn't seem pleased!! He is used to being an only-turkey.
He said he will think about accepting the newbies as long as they don't expect him to share his cucumber snacks.
I am sure he will learn to love them. It will be a little while until they meet yet so he has time to adjust to the news 😅

With thanksgiving a week away and people starting to plan Christmas meals, why not try going cruelty free?
This is a non-chicken roast from Asda. It was delicious! And I got a meat-eating friend to try it and they also really enjoyed it (I am working on them 😅) so why not give it a try!
Cruelty free, tasty, no cholesterol, healthier and cheaper! And no one had to die 🥳

Welcome to these 2 little ones! 🦃🦃

These 2 beautiful turkey poults needed a home. To stop them being taken by someone to be reared for meat we offered them a forever home here.

They are 4 days old today.

Its been hard working teaching them to eat and drink - as Mum would normally guide them (one got the hang of it quickly, the other has taken a couple of days and was quite worrying). But both are doing very well now.

They haven't got names yet. We won't know their genders for a while.

With only 2 days until Thanksgiving, please consider giving up eating these beautiful animals and having a plant based meal instead 🙏

It’s time for..MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS !! 🙏🧡

Hello again everyone, it’s the start of a new week already and time seems to be rushing by. Here at Beesfield we are trying to do everything a little bit faster to fit in all the jobs during the shortening daylight hours.
With Christmas (I’ve said that word in November 😳) fast approaching, whether you enjoy it or not, celebrate it or not, it’s going to be difficult to avoid the hype and increased rushing around. So let’s remind ourselves in today’s mindfulness that we can still find calm in a busy world..
Take a moment to gently drop a question into your mind…. What brings me peace? You may find an answer pops up straight away, but if not then carry on with your day and come back to it later. Maybe it’s a place you like to go, finding some quiet alone, being with nature.. the list is endless. When you have an answer try to seek out the peace that will nourish you.
Have a good week everyone and be kind to yourselves 🧡🐓🥰xx

It’s time for….MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS!! 🙏🧡

Hello everyone, here we are again - another Monday, a new day, a new week and it’s November 😳. Where did the year go?!

It’s been a wet and windy week at Beesfield and with the nights drawing in it’s felt pretty miserable. At times like this we can use mindfulness to help lift the mood, not just for ourselves but for others too. Generosity is a key concept in mindfulness as it helps positivity to grow. Even a small act of kindness from one person can spread some joy which can be contagious.
When we are generous it distracts us from our own troubles to focus on the other person. It makes us feel good as well as the other person. It doesn’t have to be the giving of money or gifts, sometimes the giving of time - to help out or simply to listen fully to someone. Even a smile to a stranger.
So.. for today’s mindfulness make it your intention to find little ways of being generous and help to lift the mood of yourself and others.

Today saw the last of the hens from our most recent rescue going to their forever homes. It’s so lovely to see the transformation of a hen from a rescue to being settled in their new home.
I think these photos of Jonquil show the difference. On the left is when she came in from the farm. There’s an empty look in her eyes. The only life she’s known as an ‘egg machine’ has taken its toll - not just physically but also psychologically. On the right she had been with us for a couple of months. She looks confident, the look in her eye more engaged with life. She is no longer an anonymous hen amongst thousands. She has a name and is loved.
Thank you to everyone who has given the last batch of rescue hens a forever home.

PUMPKIN SMASH

Last weekend I had the pleasure of my nephew Ellison coming to help me feed the animals.

Being that he is strong (like Hulk) I asked him to smash up the pumpkins for the chickens. He rose to the challenge and then shared out the pieces.

Lovely little Sylv came via the vets as a stray.
Lucky for her Billy from stepped in to offer her a space when she had nowhere else to go.
She has had a dental and is bunking down with us here until she gets the all clear from the vets, before looking for a new forever home.
She wasn't sure what to make of Norbu the cockeral but after just 1 night is bossing around all other cats and chickens.

She is the most adorable little thing 🥰

It’s time for… MONDAY MORNING MINDFULNESS !! 🙂🙏

Hello again - another Monday already 😳 - the start of a new day and a new week.
Here at Beesfield it’s been raining, cold, and as as fast as we shovel wood chip up to the chooks more mud appears 😞.
So for today’s mindfulness I’d like you to join us in treating yourself to something you enjoy eating, or sit down with a lovely cup of tea or coffee.
When we’re busy or distracted we can often eat a meal and barely notice it. Eating and drinking mindfully can help bring you back more fully into the moment. So when you sip your coffee or take that first bite into a cake take time to use all of your senses. Take in the smell before tasting. Look really closely at the colours of the food or drink and the plate or cup with them. Take your time to savour every bit and to know that you’ve chosen to take a little time for yourself to do this. And don’t forget to wonder about where the coffee was grown or who made the cake. All these extra things add to the experience.

Yesterday Ninja's pen had a re-vamp. New woodchip down and a brand new bedroom.

I usually have to put him to bed but for the first time he put himself to bed .. so i think he approves! He was still fast asleep in there when I opened the door this morning.

Ninja is still looking for a home and a flock of his own. If you can offer him a forever home please get in touch.

Woodchip day!!

After waiting all day for my delivery I finaly got it this morning 😅

This will hopefully help with the mud. With the heavy rain lately the chickens are looking a bit like theyve been to Glastonbury festival 😅😅 as much as I am sure theyve loved wading around picking out worms, it will be good for them to have more dryer areas to enjoy.

Just got to get it all moved from one end of the farm to the other 😬

Today was farm vet day! 🐷🐷

The girls had their pre-winter health check.
Bella has been prescribed Metacam as she appears to have arthritis in her hind legs, common with older pigs. This will make her much more confortable.
Otherwise they have a clean bill of health 🥰🙏

A HUGE thank you to a lovely lady who came here yesterday when I was out to finish leveling off this space and laying the membrane.
This space will have our new isolation unit built on it. Its all ready to go just need to finish preping the space and it should be up before winter.
Samantha, this wouldn't be happening without your help. Thank you 🙏❤️
