Call your vet TODAY for medication if your animals are especially nervous about the noises. Your vet will most likely prescribe over the telephone without making an appointment as long as they are current on their yearly examinations.

A nice long run or play session during the daytime will help with your pet's overall stress and anxiety levels. Some pets may sleep right through the night time celebrations!

🔖Prepare for a lost animal.🔖
There is a huge increase of lost pets over 4th of July weekend. Are your pets microchipped? Make sure their information is up-to-date online and the tags on their collars are secure just in case they make an escape!

🌯Wrap them up!🌯
Confining movement in dogs and cats actually has a calming effect on them, which is why you might want to consider a blanket or "thunder shirt" which you can purchase at pet stores in town.

🦴Create a safe space.🦴
Prepare a safe, escape-proof space in your home. Lower the blinds, close the windows, provide a bed or crate where they feel comfortable, offer a special chew or toy to distract them, and turn on the TV or radio to help muffle the noises outside.
