Pedigrees; Please do not remove the prefix off of pedigrees. This is the place where the breeder of that rabbit is. By removing their names, it is downright disrespectful to them. It makes it look like the whole 3-4 gens are your lines when clearly, it's not, you can tell some by the ear numbers aren't your lines and recognizable as some use specific ID, but not all are as easy to figure out. Not only that I like to know what lines I am working with, if it is the same lines I am already working with or would I be outcrossing. Please just stop removing valuable information on pedigrees. Sometimes I have had to contact prior breeders for missing information or a typo along the way caused a color change and genetically wasn't possible, so I had to trace down and correct with that breeder's permission to edit. If you remove that prefix they can't be traced anymore. THIS IS SO WRONG! STOP IT!!! From now on I will not be buying any rabbits until I see a pedigree to make sure it is a full pedigree and correct genetically. One thing for sure if you ever get one of mine it is completely full. If I had anything missing prior my breeding, I tracked it down from that original breeder and added on, again with permission. Some doctoring on a pedigree is unethical and if found out you can be blackballed for it too... JS!
P. S. Weights are also very important so please weigh your rabbits and record that weight.
ALSO, I get it a rabbit doesn't need a pedigree to be shown, but if no pedigree then they can't be registered nor Granded, neither can the next 3 generations to make up a pedigree with. Why you want to hurt someone's chances for 3 generations by withholding a pedigree or information missing on it. I have had breeders sell me a baby and parents missing information and they refused to give that, not wanting you to grand any of their rabbits or the babies for 3 gens of. WRONG people just WRONG!
