Update time!!

I've been committed to helping the cats in Jerusalem, but since my last initiative ended it's been tough finding another way to get involved...now I have.

I am fundraising for the spay/neuter program of the Jerusalem Street Cat Association, and I do have a connection on the ground so I can keep up with how things are going.

Unfortunately they don't have their own clinic so high volume is out of the question, but any cat that's fixed makes a difference.

There are 3 ways to donate:

My GoFundMe Campaign - https://gofund.me/312f939c

JGive - https://www.jgive.com/new/en/ils/charity-organizations/1234

PayPal - amuta lemaan hatulei rehov biyerushlaim

If you donate directly, please let me know. First of all I’d like to send you a personal thank you, but I also keep fundraising records which are important for this initiative.

Look at these beautiful cats🥰! They look so healthy because they've been fixed and the colony is well cared for. Wouldn't it be nice to see every cat looking so well?

As always, please share these posts to as many people as possible.

It has been brought to my attention that someone who has seen posts on here have now complained to the JSPCA that I'm badmouthing them.

If you read the posts you'll see I mentioned bureaucratic issues as the problem and refused to say more.

I don't know who complained, but I hope you stop following this page and causing trouble.

I actually have an update!!

As you know, we are no longer associated with the JSPCA, so I have renamed our project TNR Jerusalem.

Although the volunteer vet recruitment side of it is finished, at least for now, our mission to spay and neuter the feral cats of Jerusalem is still on.

You all know Chaya who is on the ground, making new connections, trapping and doing everything she can to help end suffering. I will keep trying to raise awareness for what we're doing, and hopefully funds as well.

At the moment we're using the Let the Animals Live clinic. Surgeries cost 170NIS, but it's outside the city and they have a huge waiting list. Trapping is also more costly, so we're also using private vets who charge 220-290NIS.

It's expensive but what can we do?

Yesterday, 15 cats were fixed at 3 different clinics which is exhausting for everyone involved, but that shows a commitment we no longer saw from you know where!!

The picture below is why we never give up.

It breaks my heart to let you all know...the JSPCA has ended our program.

If you have any questions or complaints, feel free to speak to them, I can't add anything.

However, we will still be doing our best to help fix the cats in Jerusalem, by looking for other partnerships. Any money raised will still go to TNR.

I've changed the name of the page, not sure if I'm keeping it, I just didn't want any mention of JSPCA.

Hello everyone!

I'm so sorry to have to tell you but...our program is on hold and I have no idea if/when we'll be able to resume.

Due to bureaucratic issues (I'm going to leave it at that without going into all the details at this time) we are no longer able to bring vets over.

It breaks my heart because I wanted to help end all that suffering, but sadly it's beyond my control.

I've been writing to one organisation to see if there's anything that can be done, but of course I've had no response. I'll keep trying and updating you all.

Sadly not everyone involved in rescue cares about the animals, and egos often take precedence over helping the voiceless.

Times flies so quickly, then I realise how long it's been since I last updated...I guess because there's not much to say.

I hope you're all staying as safe as you can, and please know how much we're all thinking of you.

We were supposed to have a volunteer vet a week or so ago, but unfortunately he cancelled. I understand, but still disappointing.

I posted in the Sword of Iron FB group, and that's helped share our project. I also had a couple of enquiries from people who aren't vets but are interested in helping out at the shelter which is very welcome.

That's it for now!

Here is a picture taken today of a vet who has come to lend a hand. He's currently helping out on a farm in Israel, but wanted to help us as well, so we're grateful.

Sorry it's been so long since my last update. Unfortunately there's not a lot going on at the moment.

We have a few vets looking at the end of the year, but sadly nothing before that at the moment.

I'm going to be advertising for vets again, so we'll see how that goes.

Hope you're all keeping well.

This is a new fundraiser I've launched. Can you please share it on your social media platforms?

Help Us End Suffering: Please Donate to Support our Cat Spay/Neuter Project

We are currently raising money for 2 very important pieces of equipment needed for our spay/neuter project.

The first is a monitor that measures oxygen levels during surgery. This lets the vet know there’s a problem before he or she sees the cat isn’t breathing. Cost: 2300NIS, which is roughly $619 US/$846 Canadian/575 euros/£493 UK

The second is a baby scale. Knowing a cat’s weight is important as a way to more accurately medicate and anesthetize them. Cost: roughly $150 US/$205 Canadian/139 euros/£120 UK

As I mentioned, I posted looking for volunteers yesterday in the 2 vet FB groups I always use. The number of hateful comments I received about Israel was shocking. I immediately notified the admins and in seconds the comments were removed. They were amazing but those vets were disgusting!

I did get some interest which is good.

I'm always so happy when I can post an update...it means something's happening!!

Despite the completely understandable cancellations by vets a few months ago, and the reluctance of others to come at this time...again understandable, I decided to post about our program in the 2 FB vet volunteer groups I recruit from. Why not, you never know!!

I got a lot of likes and some emails expressing interest. We'll see if anything comes of this, and I will of course keep you posted.

I took this picture the last time I was in Israel, which was too many years ago.

Even though war rages on and the lunatics keep trying to kill us, we're continuing to fix the feral cats in Jerusalem. Donations are always welcome, and even if you aren't able to contribute, sharing this post and raising awareness of what we do is equally as important!

About Us

מספיק! Enough

It's time to end the suffering of Israel's street cats!

Anyone who travels to Israel has seen it: Approximately 2 million feral cats are roaming around the country. In Jerusalem alone, estimates put the number at around 200,000.

Many live on the streets by the good graces of anyone who feeds them, but the majority of Israel's cats suffer and die on the streets from starvation, disease, hyperthermia (heat stroke) and even intentional abuse.
