I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and loved ones (I did too!). It was a busy week, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so grateful I was able to care for some wonderful feline friends (and even a bearded dragon!) while their families were away.

Safety is at the heart of everything I do, for myself, your pets, and our community. That’s why all cats and dogs in your household must be current on their rabies vaccination, with documentation on file, along with any other core vaccines and preventatives recommended by your veterinarian.
Rabies can be preventable, but it is a serious viral disease that affects both animals and humans - and once symptoms appear, it’s almost always fatal. Even indoor-only pets aren’t completely risk-free; infected wildlife like bats can occasionally find their way inside, which is why it’s recommend keeping indoor cats current on their rabies vaccine.
Keeping pets up-to-date on their vaccinations is a simple but powerful way to protect them, your household, and the entire community - so we can all enjoy safe, reliable, and worry-free pet care.
The holidays are a magical time to gather with loved ones—but they can also bring hidden dangers for our pets. Here are a few simple ways to keep your furry family members safe this season:
• Keep toxic foods like chocolate, alcohol, grapes/raisins, and even unbaked bread dough safely out of reach.
• Be mindful with holiday décor. Choose pet-safe decorations and avoid items that could break, tangle, or be swallowed.
• Stay alert outdoors. Antifreeze is highly toxic and even small amounts can be deadly.

It also means being part of an international community committed to PSI’s Global Standards for professional pet care. My PSI membership gives me access to trusted, up-to-date educational resources so I can provide your pets with the safest, highest-quality care—while also keeping your home secure.
Attending PSI’s conference each year is something I genuinely look forward to. It’s a chance to step away for a few days, recharge, reconnect with fellow professionals, and learn from industry experts who help raise the standard of pet care across our industry.

I adore all pets, but I’ve always had a special pull toward cats. I grew up surrounded by both dogs and cats, and while dogs absolutely pick up on our emotions, cats connect with us in such a unique (and sometimes surprising!) way. Their intuition, their quiet companionship, and the bonds they build feel different—deeper in a way that’s hard to explain but easy to feel.
In my experience, cats are some of the most emotionally in-tune pets out there, and I feel lucky every time I get to care for them.

Our pets are beloved family members and play an important role in our lives. They eagerly lend a paw to help us feel better during sad times and jump at the chance to go to the park! For many, our pets are considered our kids and we want the best for them. However this might pose a challenge when we have to juggle work, family emergencies, and vacations.
Do you find yourself working long hours at the office and can't make it home on your lunch hour to let your dog out to relieve themselves? Are you planning a summer vacation and don't feel comfortable boarding your dog? Maybe you recently got injured or are about to have a medical procedure and you will need assistance caring for your cat while you recover. Kat and Dogs Ohio (KADO) is available to help you!!!

Services range from daily visits to relaxing neighborhood walks, and are available for clients who live in Eastlake, Kirtland, Wickliffe, Willowick, Willoughby Hills, and Willoughby.
