I entered Ranger and I into Micheal Lyons horsemanship challenge! This will be my second time doing it. The first I entered with my white mule Alice and successfully completed all 100 days!
Ranger has been nothing but good so far in all of the training and interactions I have had with him thus far and I have no doubt that he will excel with daily work.
On day 1 I introduced him to come positive reinforcement and unsurprisingly he remembered everything that we had gone over so far! I was able to put the halter on no problem, get him to free lunge a circles around me (with direction changes, responsive with woah/ walk and trot commands), and disengaging his hind quarters. I also worked on him just following me around without the lead and continuing getting him used to dramatic movements like people jumping around and patting along on his body.
Overall, a very good day to start the challenge on! I am hoping that by the end of the challenge I will have him saddle broke and able to be trailered
