THANK YOU EVERYONE - PIXIE HAS FOUND A LOVELY HOME WITH ANOTHER WISHPOOL CAVALIER.♥️

Would any of my Wishpool families be interested in an adult Cavalier?
Pixie is a 3 year old female. She has recently been desexed. She’s quite small, at 6kg. She is in great health and has been DNA tested for genetic conditions through Embark.
She is great with kids, cats and other dogs, but really just loves to be with her person as much as possible. I’d prefer her to go to a home with another dog for company.
She is not a giveaway - I will be asking a fee to cover part of the cost of desexing.
Located 1 hour N/W of Brisbane for the next month, then we’re relocating to the North Burnett.🐾🖤

Hi guys - I just wanted to post a quick update, as I’m getting a few enquires about upcoming litters.
I won’t have any litters in the foreseeable future. I needed a break and then my beautiful stud dog, Snickers, was killed by a brown snake about 2 months ago. My heart is just not in it at this time.
I still have Bunny and Sooty - female black cavaliers that carry chocolate, so the potential to start back up again is there, and in the future I may look to purchase another stud dog or work with a breeder of chocs🤎🖤

3 weeks old!🎈Everone is strong and healthy and starting to wriggle around a lot more now.

It’s become very clear that I am not going to have a puppy for everyone who has contacted me wanting one, this time. Millie only had one baby and the chocolates have been in extremely high demand.

As much as I want to take a break - I really hate letting people down, so am considering another litter from Bunny and Snickers. Under the MDBA code of Ethics, she can have 2 litters in an 18 month period.
If I haven’t confirmed a pup for you from this litter and you want to be on the waiting list for the next one - please get in touch - but please do keep in mind: she may not fall pregnant, she may have 1 pup, she may have 8 pups or anything in between, they could all die, they could all be boys, they could all be girls, they could not be the exact colour you were hoping for. I’ll do my best but nature will do it’s thing too🤷🏻‍♀️

Update on Bunny’s litter - all doing well and SB has taken motherhood in her stride. We have a black boy, a black girl, a solid chocolate boy, a solid chocolate girl and two choc & tan girls.🤎🤎🤎🤎🖤🖤
I’m going to be running DNA on all these pups before making any decisions about who I’m keeping, who will go to pet homes and who will join other breeders programs. The test results will take at least 4 weeks to come back, so I’m sorry I can’t let anyone know much before then.

Update on Millie - she had a long labour and two big pups last night. Unfortunately, one male was born backwards and sleeping and couldn’t be revived 😢
She’s very proud of her remaining Black & White girl, though🧡

I could not believe my eyes when Shadow-Bunny had her litter yesterday. I was expecting blacks and black & tans. I knew they’d all be chocolate carriers, as Snickers is the father. I was NOT expecting visual chocolates.
A quick chat with some chocolate cavalier breeder friends confirmed to me that Bunny HAD to be a chocolate carrier to produce these pups.
I’d never DNA tested Bunny, as I had her parents and grandparents and knew what she carried health wise.
So I frantically searched through the colour trait results of her ancestors and discovered that her father and grandfather were in fact, both chocolate carriers 😮
I’d never even looked at the B Locus on their results, because I was always looking for black, not chocolate!!
So anyway - 1) I’m an idiot and 2) a very pleasant suprise!
2 blacks, 2 choc & tans, 2 solid chocolates.

A number of people have messaged asking why I’m taking an indefinite break from breeding.
One of the main reasons is sh*t like this. Dishonest, manipulative people who are happy to lie and take advantage of all the years of time, money, blood, sweat and tears I have put into my Black Cavalier program, for their own gain.
This woman approached me wanting a puppy in 2020. One of the first things I made clear is that I WOULD NOT, at that point, sell to breeding homes. We had MULTIPLE discussions about this where she repeatedly assured me she would never breed him and would have him desexed. She came into my house, looked me in the eye and lied to my face.
Even in the year after she took him home, we stayed in touch, she shared photos etc and kept promising to desex him soon.
Then she blocked me on Facebook 🚩
I bet you can’t guess what happened next?
Yep, she’s breeding black Cavaliers. She’s a dodgy backyard breeder - she’s not registered, she has no experience or code of ethics to comply with. She’s done NO DNA OR HEALTH TESTING on the dog she got from me or the one she’s bred him to.

Why am I so strict about not letting people breed my black pups? The main reason is that the “other colours” face such intense scrutiny from the cavalier breeding community. We’re constantly attacked by other breeders and told that they’re crossbreeds, in**ed, mismarked, a genetic defect, unhealthy etc. The ANKC will not recognise or register them (the MDBA and AKC are a little more progressive).

So my goal, before sending them out into the breeding world at large, has been to get them as close to perfect as I can. For the record, I have sold pups on breeding terms to two other breeders - women I have known for years, who I trust completely and who share the same goals for the health of this breed as I do. People who I can trust passing on Wishpool lines to.

This person has taken all of that out of my hands. I don’t know anything about the health status of the dog she bred mine to. She’ll no doubt sell the pups to other breeders with the same lack of experience and values as herself. They don’t have to answer to anyone or do any health testing or uphold any welfare standards- they’re not registered.
We’ve seen it happen with the Chocolate Cavaliers already - serious inbreeding and whole litters being born with heart defects - because backyard breeders and puppy farms got their hands on them and breed simply for colour - not health.
It breaks my heart that this person has used my lines, my years of dedication and my reputation to send the black Cavaliers down the same path.

There’s a huge puppy farm about an hour from me - I wonder how long until they’re selling Black Cavaliers now?

Oh, and this is the second time this has happened to me (that I know of).

So yeah, I’m over it.

Millie X Jett litter, and our last litter for the foreseeable future, will be due late May.
Jett has been desexed and is now in a loving forever home and Millie will also be retiring after this litter and looking for her forever family🖤
This litter could be a real mixed bag - we may get black, black n white, black n tan, Tri, Ruby or Blenheim 😂

We are excited to announce that we have a Shadow-Bunny X Snickers litter, due late May 🤎🖤
Expecting blacks and black n tans - all chocolate carriers (puppies will not be visually chocolate, but will carry the chocolate gene, so when bred to another chocolates carrier or visual chocolate, can produce chocolate pups).
This will be one of our last litters for the foreseeable future as we’re taking a break from breeding. Get in touch if you’ve got a loving home to offer one of these babies 🐶🐾
