usually don't say anything about other breeders, but when it comes to hurting the breed that I have worked so hard to help in the last 6 years I feel that I need to say something. This group knows that I outcross and on my 4th generation. This was a lot of hard work and I couldn't have done it without my mentor and the breeder of the Burmese, she was all about health and was concerned about the Singapura.
There is a breeder in N.C. doing outcrossing with a Burmese, which I do not know where he got it from. He now has his F1 asking a big amount of money for them. Please buyers be careful when dealing with this person. this breeder and I use breeder loosely does not have a mentor and has never shown a cat.
I had to post this, I love the breed and am so tired of breeders hurting them.
He makes his living off the Singapuras, this is a hobby of love, not a living

When the Singapura was first introduce and CFA accepted it. In litters there were sable kittens born, but breeders bred it out, so to have the Brown Tick Tabby. I would say both parents would have to carry the gene to produce sable. Like the pointed Russians, both have to carry the gene. The kittens are no different from their Tabby siblings same cute face, personailty and small size.

I get so tired of Breeders saying they are going to Europe to bring in an outcross. Who is the breeder over there that has outcross's and they are register? There isn't!! The sad thing is one breeder is telling buyers they have had sick kittens even death and losing mothers, so bringing in from Europe is going to help this this? How can it when there isn't any new lines.

I am finding the more Singapuras I see, so many have gray undertones, they're losing that nice salmon color. They are becoming taller and longer in the body, that being said, they are not small and Coby which was what we wanted. I too have larger ones due to my outcrossing. but, health and no inbreeding is what I am after. So far the outcross babies are doing so good with the health once I have that I can work on size, but not to where I have to breed tiny. Like any toy or micro tiny comes so many health issuers.
