usually don't say anything about other breeders, but when it comes to hurting the breed that I have worked so hard to help in the last 6 years I feel that I need to say something. This group knows that I outcross and on my 4th generation. This was a lot of hard work and I couldn't have done it without my mentor and the breeder of the Burmese, she was all about health and was concerned about the Singapura.
There is a breeder in N.C. doing outcrossing with a Burmese, which I do not know where he got it from. He now has his F1 asking a big amount of money for them. Please buyers be careful when dealing with this person. this breeder and I use breeder loosely does not have a mentor and has never shown a cat.
I had to post this, I love the breed and am so tired of breeders hurting them.
He makes his living off the Singapuras, this is a hobby of love, not a living

When the Singapura was first introduce and CFA accepted it. In litters there were sable kittens born, but breeders bred it out, so to have the Brown Tick Tabby. I would say both parents would have to carry the gene to produce sable. Like the pointed Russians, both have to carry the gene. The kittens are no different from their Tabby siblings same cute face, personailty and small size.

I get so tired of Breeders saying they are going to Europe to bring in an outcross. Who is the breeder over there that has outcross's and they are register? There isn't!! The sad thing is one breeder is telling buyers they have had sick kittens even death and losing mothers, so bringing in from Europe is going to help this this? How can it when there isn't any new lines.

I am finding the more Singapuras I see, so many have gray undertones, they're losing that nice salmon color. They are becoming taller and longer in the body, that being said, they are not small and Coby which was what we wanted. I too have larger ones due to my outcrossing. but, health and no inbreeding is what I am after. So far the outcross babies are doing so good with the health once I have that I can work on size, but not to where I have to breed tiny. Like any toy or micro tiny comes so many health issuers.

I think I have gotten the color, warm tones not grey undertones. The salmon color is there. Need to work on barring.

This results in harmful mutations and medical conditions. These include the following:

A. Immune Deficiencies
As mentioned earlier, inbreeding leads to a loss of genetic diversity. This means decreased diversity in the immune system’s genes.

When infectious agents attack the in**ed cat, the immune system may not have enough alleles to tackle them.

This increases his odds of catching diseases and infections that can be fatal.

B. Congenital Abnormalities
An in**ed cat also has a high tendency to be infertile. This mostly happens when inbreeding takes place for multiple generations.

You can tell inbreeding has gone too far when a female cat gives birth to unhealthy, small, or disfigured litters.

Increased infant mortality is also a sign. Deeply in**ed males may also become infertile.

C. Physical Deformities
Genetic mutations can cause all manner of deformities such as stumpy tails, unusual facial features, short legs, crooked noses, abnormal eye symmetry, misaligned jaws, etc.

D. Medical Conditions
In**ed cats with certain physical characteristics are predisposed to specific medical conditions.

In**ed cats may also have lower intelligence compared to their counterparts. This makes them simply undesirable and hard to house train

I find people are so hung up on color, what a shame, because there are two cats that I know of that are too breeds that are different. One the Russian and the Singapura.During the war the Russians numbers were lower. so the breeders needed an outcross for them, they chose the Bluepoint Siamese but when the blue point kittens stated popping up in the litters. they wanted nothing to do with them. In other words we got what we want either drown them or kill them. Not one cat ass: would recognized them, even though they had the same cartaracteristic of they're Blue sibling .Breeders wanted them gone, but they kept popping up in litter and many people found appealing ,but color is a hang up. Same with the sable singapura,it doesn't matter how much they act and have the personality of their sibling the sepia again it's color, drown them breeders were told. why? They are the same breed only in sable and its a man made breed, probably one of the most mistreated breeds ever with lies. A true man made this breed that came in another color Sable, but breeders were told to drown them, again why. They are just like they're Sepia siblings only in sable. Is color a big deal? Does it make a cat? Or is it the idiots that do it?
