The first exclusive Chinese Red Dog Training Day in the UK!

We are proud to be in association with the Laizhou Hong Club Global, who organized the event. We believe this is a great big step towards the progression of the breed and exploring its full potential.

We had a blast playing with the red dogs who brought great energy today, and we look forward to more sessions!

The Chinese Red Dog Registry was founded in 2021.

The main aim of this organisation is to protect, and progress the breed.

To dispel some common myths....
The Chinese Red Dog Registry has no interest in giving dogs the ability to be shown in dog shows. This registry is a grass roots organisation to aid the breed in being recognised by way of collecting definitive data on the population as the breed grows throughout the world.

It collects data on owners and dogs, healths statuses, bloodlines and working achievements.

When the time is apparent the Chinese Red Dog Registry will work together with organisations using it's data to prove the legitimacy of the existence of the required separate bloodlines within the population. The registry uses DNA to register dogs and undoubtedly prove their existence and lineage. BY NO MEANS IS THIS REGISTRY SET UP TO COMPETE WITH OTHER OFFICIAL BODIES AND IN ACTUAL FACT QUITE THE OPPOSITE - we are here to collect data whilst nobody else is.

We work together with the Laizhou Hong Club Global to propel our efforts in getting the job done and carrying out research on the breed and its progression.

Just to note: registering dogs with the CKU for shows is fine if show dogs is what you are into. However, it only visually brings awareness to the breed similar to facebook and other social media platforms but does not help in terms of officially getting the breed recognised.

We can quote from the FCI guidelines on such a subject for what is required.

"The population must consist of a minimum of eight family groups, each with at least two males and six females, from two different litters in each family group, born over a period of five years. There must be no ancestors in common throughout three generations.

Alternatively, an estimation of the effective population size based on a pedigree data can be accepted.

Effective population size can be defined as the size of a population obtained by random mating showing the same decrease in genetic variability as the breed under study. Pedigree data allow measuring the increase in inbreeding (i.e. decrease in genetic variability) or coancestry within a given breed, allowing to estimate the effective population size in this breed (Leroy et al. 2013). In order to carry out this estimation, a pedigree file including a reference population (i.e. all the puppies born over a period of five years) and its ancestors over at least three generations should be provided."

DURING THE TEN YEAR PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION it is imperative that actions should be taken to maintain the genetic variability within the population.

This can only be aided by having such a registry and there is nothing that the registry does which takes away from the process of recognition. We only add to the process.

Applications for breed recogntion must include among other things a completed questionnaire on health and an evaluation on behaviour and character. These are things the registry can track with ease.

The dogs being individually registered via third parties will be only from limited bloodlines thus not helping to document a population, in turn not aiding the breed to be recognised with official organisations such as the FCI and ultimately giving ill placed legitimacy for breeders who soley wish to breed and sell dogs as "registered" regardless of their health status or confirmation.

The work we do is real, its expensive and it's time consuming. We have a long way to go but we have always declared that we are in it for the long run.

Did you know that there have been zero attempts at data collection for the Chinese Red Dog? Moving forward without any data-driven research or information is a problem especially at the rate that they are being bred today.

We believe that the future of the breed is reliant on a more educated generation of red dog parents.

As part of this campaign, we ask everyone to take a minute of their time to fill out this survey.

**The registry is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and operate with a Privacy Policy (refer to website). The results from this study will be shared in the context of percentages and stats.

SURVEY This survey aims to collect information that will be used to better our understanding of how to care for the Chinese Red Dog breed.

We're officially turning a year old on the 1st of March but we could not wait to announce the chances we've made!

Our 1st year did not come without its challenges so we're very grateful to everyone who has shown support and registered their dogs. We hope you love your dog's registration certificate that also details their lineage. We designed it to be detailed, simple, and with love. Because of you, we also now have a growing FAMILY TREE on our website.

To show our commitment to looking out for the progression of the breed, and to encourage more people to join the cause, we have upgraded our packages with health tests but downgraded the rates! REGISTER YOUR DOG TODAY: chinesereddogregistry.com

Why register your dog with us?

The Chinese Red Dog Registry is a living, breathing and constantly evolving registry that is exclusive for the Chinese Red Dog. We are focused on one breed, and no other registry has the Chinese Red Dog at the forefront of their agenda.

Our services are specialised for the Chinese Red Dog. The more often used DNA Profiling and health tests available out there for Chinese Red Dogs are unfortunately blanket platforms that are used to test over 100+ different breeds, which does not recognise the Chinese Red Dog. This means you will only test what is possible to test for in the primary breeds.

There is also no registry creating and documenting lineage in the UK at present. We will build a lineage (a family tree) using the UK, Europe and US stock as our ground zero dogs.

Some of the lineage of the dogs coming from China has not been listed and often, when you receive your paper work, the lineage is blank; and that is if you even get them. We are aware that there are a number of people with dogs that are now over a year old and still have not received the documentation that they have been waiting for.

We do not think this is good enough. As soon as you have registered your dog with us and accomplished your DNA Profiling via blood sample, we will process your bespoke certificate and premium welcome pack and send it on its way to you.

Our research and testing will also be ongoing and shared with our members as part of our commitment to transparency.

Our price is at a premium because of all these. By registering your dog/s with the Chinese Red Dog Registry, you are actively working with us to protect, preserve, and progress the breed. www.chinesereddogregistry.com/registration

Aside from offering an all-in-one platform, bespoke certificates and health services, our mission at Chinese Red Dog Registry goes beyond caring for one dog. We care for the breed as a whole. Applying data science, the information we collect, store, and manage will be used to track and monitor the lineage and health of not just your dog but all Chinese Red Dogs. 🐾 By doing this, and with your help, we shall address the lack of information.
