I think a lot of people have this misconception when training your dog to walk on a loose leash that they ALWAYS need to be right next to you.. Thats going to suck for you.. Thats going to suck for your dog.. AND you will both wind up super frustrated. Obedience commands should be just that… on command.. You should be able to turn it on and you should be able to turn it off like a light switch. Anyways.. get out there and train your dogs! #dogtraining #dogsofinstagram #dogtrainer #dogtrainingtips #heel #obedience

✅ Start with a 6 ft lead ✅ Ask your dog to come ✅ Move backwards ✅ If they come the first time, pay ✅ If they don’t, reel them in and no payment ✅ When they understand the game you will upgrade to a leash pop if they choose to ignore ✅ Upgrade to a longer line ✅ Add distance/distraction/duration ✅ Layer e-collar on low level stim over leash pressure ✅ Don’t buy a crappy e-collar ✅ Don’t just blast your dog with the e-collar! ✅ Practice with and without the e-collar ✅ DO NOT DITCH YOUR LONG LINE UNTIL IT IS 100% RELIABLE! ✅ If you have questions, DM me 😉 #dogtraining #ecollartraining #offleashlife
