After careful consideration I’ve decided that this amazing dog needs a job and would be better suited as a Service Dog for someone in need.
She’s incredibly smart, intuitive, very stable and I can tell all she wants to do is work for her human.
So we’ve renamed her Bruna and she is now in training to be the next Stray to Service, Service Dog.
Welcome Bruna!

Henry the Service Dog (in training) got to visit Carlsbad Caverns and heeled for a full 2 hours while we were in there.
Service Dogs need to perform their duties no matter what environment or distraction they are in so it is imperative that this is proofed during training.
Henry is close to being matched and begin the next phase of training with his handler.
He’s come a long way since Fido Fest and I couldn’t be more proud of Henry Good Boy!

Did you know the City of Sheridan Public Works Department recently added a Code Compliance Officer to the Building Division?

The Code Compliance position is responsible for investigating and resolving all reported and validated code violations that fall within the scope of the Public Works Department. These may include code violations pertaining to zoning, signage, dilapidated or unsafe structures, filthy premises, graffiti, life and safety, and construction. Shane Shepardson was born and raised in Colorado and moved to Wyoming in 2014. In 2020, he moved to the city of Sheridan with his family and his service dog, Bomber. Shane enjoys the outdoors and all it has to offer, which was part of the reason he decided to make Sheridan his home. With a background in law enforcement and the military, Shane brings a lot of skill and knowledge to the position.

Shane’s goal as the Code Compliance Officer is to make meaningful connections with the community and citizens of Sheridan and to work together to maintain the beautiful Sheridan we all know and love. His office is located at City Hall in the Building Division and he can be reached by phone during business hours at (307) 675-4218.

Hi!
My name is Henry! (Thanks everyone for voting)
I just joined the Oklahoma Stray to Service pack!
I was found as a stray in Peggs and now I’m training to be a Service Dog for a someone in need.
I am having so much fun training!
Today I took a walk with my buddy Jade down to the lake!

Special thanks,
Too Fond Of Books for sponsoring this sweet boy at the shelter
Vicky Green and everyone who works with the local shelters to help these dogs
The North Carolina crew that flew out to help do the Fido Fest booth and helping generate food and treat donations for the dogs in training.
Country Pet Inn and our STS team in Wyoming, without whom non of this would be possible
Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce for convincing me to do a booth and helping me make it happen
All my bootcamp dogs and their humans
🙏❤️

Everyone please welcome _________?
To the Stray to Service family!
This sweet boy was adopted from the Tahlequah City Pound and will be spending the next 9 months to a year with me learning how to be a Service Dog for someone in need.

But he needs a new name!
Can you help us name him?

Stray to Service began as a pilot program at the Dog and Cat Shelter in Sheridan, Wyoming. The program outgrew the mission and scope of the shelter and became a 501(C)3 registered with the state of Wyoming. This allows our program to grow nationally by selecting dogs from other shelters, and accepting applications from all over the US.
