These two are the only two offspring of the Kalaotoa X Mindanao Phillipine clutch. After consulting and looking closely at these two babies, itโs clear that these hatchlings are pure Mindanao Phillipines and have absolutely zero Kalaotoa influence.

There are two explanations that I am thinking could have caused this:
1) Parthenogenesis - asexual reproduction in which offspring are produced by females without the genetic contribution of a male - one reason it could be this is due to the low survival rate of the clutch which is a common theme of a โparthoโ clutch and the evidence that the babies do not have any Kalaotoa influence at all. I also never witnessed the male lock with the female
2) Gynogenesis - a form of asexual reproduction in which female eggs are activated by male sperm, but no male genetic material is contributed to offspring. - itโs important to note that as of the research I have found, this has not be observed in the wild for reptiles. However, the male was a first time breeder and if he locked with the female, this would explain why there is no influence from the male in the offsprings that are showed in the video.
