GRCH GRHBCH(5) ROCKY RUN COPPERTOP picked up a couple cast wins today with Mid-Iowa Beaglers. Conditions were tough, but the dogs did a good job.

HBCH ROCKY RUN TWICE SHY edged out a win today at the Northern Indiana Beagle Club World Qualifier. They put us on lots of rabbits and Brock Butler did a great job as judge.

Great day in the woods for the Rocky Run pack. One of these rabbits Copper located when he stuck his head into some brush. Then he backed his head out and stood up on his back legs, expecting the rabbit to takeoff and he wanted to see it and catch it. When it didn’t flush, he dove in after it and got it going.

Two things happen when the temp drops to -5°…

Had a hawk swoop down and try to take this rabbit right as I was about to take a shot. But the hawk only left with some hide. An hour later, the old Single Six finished the job. I’ve been rabbit hunting for decades, and that’s the first time I’ve ever seen a hawk dive at a rabbit while hunting.

Copper and Shy ran this one pretty hard. The only time it stopped was behind a tuff of grass. But the old Single Six sent 36 grains right through it.
