Hi everybody from Coco. We are doing very well. We got a new little vest from Just for parrots. Thank you Sharon for everything. We also got a collar that’s kind of fancy to keep her from plucking any more feathers. I showed it to her and I’ll let her get used to it before we put it on, have fallen in love with this little girl and she is calling me mama already💕

Good morning from Coco💕 we are beginning to get a few little new feathers coming in. I’m very happy about that. She has a pretty healthy appetite. She loves peanuts and the Birdy bread I make.
I try to give her her space so she can grieve, but also let her know that I’m here for her and we are all here for her. She doesn’t seem as timid, and hopefully getting used to our routine. Progress ❤️ps she’s camera shy

This is a new story in the making of Coco, the citron cockatoo. The first photos were taken prior to her coming home to our crazy cockatoo house.
 I am going to try to do an update on her two or three times a week to see her progress.
Coco‘s story is her owner passed away, not knowing to me how long she was with this person but she was there for a while and loved him very much. Shortly after his passing, another male had her for maybe a month and she began to pluck her feathers to the bare skin. With this going on, she was surrendered to a local parrot store Just for Parrots in Springfield. The store owner ,Sharon messaged me about this bird and to call her the following day which I did and then she began to tell me about Coco and how she needed to be with someone in a loving home who understood cockatoos. I had questions she had answered and the next day, went to meet Coco and bring her home. She is eating she’s playing with her toys. She has some more quiet birds in the same room as her to keep her company along with a TV, which has Sesame Street and cartoons on, She’s in front of the big window so she gets plenty of sunshine. So far so good she just made her first little squeak of excitement! I hope you will follow our story on her progress .., for the love of Coco, the cockatoo❤️
