Team USA’s Marcus Orlob on Jane waves to the crowd, which applauded sympathetically after Orlob was eliminated during his Grand Prix test after judge at C Susanne Baarup of Denmark spotted blood on the inside of the mare’s right hind fetlock (visible in the photo). Orlob speculated afterward that Jane’s reaction to seeing the crowd at Versailles – she backed and spun when she entered the stadium – might have caused her to nick herself. The good news is, according to Orlob, Jane is fine. The bad news is that the USA is now out of the Paris 2024 Olympic team competition. The remaining two riders, Adrienne Lyle on Helix (who rides today) and SPeters Dressage on Suppenkasper (who rides tomorrow), will be competing as individuals.

It’s not about the results you’re achieving it’s about the commitment to the process, it’s about the person you are becoming through the process.

So the win or the loss is actually not about placings or scores. It is instead becomes about discipline, fortitude, grit, determination, bouncing back from hard days, focus, learning from mistakes, setting realistic goals and mindset.

In the driven and ambitious society that we live in, everything we do seems to be measured by the instant results.

No longer, are the days when we were taught to work hard, stay consistent and be patient, to reach some level of success now it seems those principles are slowly becoming obsolete. But I’m here to shed light on the importance of falling in love with the process and not just the results.

About doing the Mahi (work) and being patient through the process. It’s a lesson that might come off absurd at first, but I challenge you to give this idea a listen and apply it your routine to see what results you get along the way.

Start the week of this week finding some joy in the mundane, the hard work, the routine, the day to day. 💕👊

Great show yesterday with these 2! So proud of the progress and growth Jess and Rocky have shown in the last year! His strength, balance, and consistency has increased immensely in these last few months, and Jess' determination is just inspiring. It's so rewarding to have riders that really put the work in 💪. Plus she has the cutest pony🐴. It is always a pleasure to go out with you guys! Congratulations to another great show in the books!! 🏆🏅🐎🦄

And if you do this in every corner it will become second nature. It is something that is done in a few seconds, but it gives you a huge advantage: an extra step to prepare, a little more suppleness training, a moment to test your horse’s obedience, a chance to collect your thoughts before the next movement. What a whirlwind summer it has been!! We have been busy busy busy, seems like 2021 is just flying by!

Last weekend myself and Cathy Bruinsma finished out our season by attaining some major aspirations. We have worked tirelessly to clean up Zim's changes, and finally all of the hard work paid off! Cathy achieved her final score at 3-3 with a 62%, and I was lucky enough to attain my final score at 4th level for my silver medal. Blue ribbons all around!! Couldn't be more pleased and proud of all we've accomplished this season.

I'm looking forward to continuing this amazing life and journey again next season when regionals are at HOME!
