Late last year I began working on a quilt made with 5” squares from all my fun dog 🐶 🐾🦴print fabrics.
While sewing 🪡 🧵the quilt together, I thought of my friend Annecy and her two pups Mini and Chiquita . I knew both pups were in need of expensive medical 🩺🩻 care, so I decided that this quilt was going to be raffled 🎟️ off with proceeds going towards both Mini and Chiquita’s veterinary 👨🏻‍⚕️ bills .
This quilt measures 60” x 66” and will make a great Mother’s Day Gift 🎁 , a great picnic quilt 🧺or a great quilt to snuggle under with your furbaby 🐶
Raffle starts tomorrow and ends May 15th. Winner of the quilt will be announced on May 18th.
Tickets 🎟️ 🎟️🎟️ can be purchased by DM to Annecy .
Thank you all in advance for helping a friend with her veterinary bills.

When my friend Kim asked me if I would make her a Cooper memory quilt, I didn’t hesitate for a single second.
Kim sent me several of his personalized bandanas (pictured) as well as a huge box of fabric leftover from other bandanas she had made for Cooper.

When I opened the box and saw the bandana made by , I started to cry, realizing the sadness of losing Cooper, and knowing how much I loved him.
Over the course of several weeks, I worked closely with Kim as we discussed the details of the quilt, and the unique characteristics and personality of Cooper.

This includes appliqué of his long hair and facial features. It was all new to me, and I’m happy with how it turned out.
Swipe to see the progress of how this Cooper Memory Quilt came together.
Thank you Kim for entrusting me with this task. Cooper will always be in my heart.

When my daughter asked me if I would be willing to make a quilt 🧵🪡for a fundraiser to help raise money for my granddaughter’s synchronized swimming 🏊‍♀️ team, I immediately said “yes!”
We had such a good time scavenging through my bins of scraps, and finding just the most perfect color combinations 🟩 🟨 🟦 🟪 to make this Irish Chain quilt measuring 69.5” x 63.5” .

I especially loved using up the rest of the state of Minnesota fabric, and doing more appliqué with the last block in a synchro image.
This was so fun and easy to make. I can’t wait until April when it goes into the raffle 🎟️ ! I’m excited to see who wins it! .

The best part of the day is in the evening when I can sit and relax while hand sewing 🪡🧵the binding on a quilt.
I started this quilt last November and finished quilting it early January. Like most of my quilts, it’s made mostly from my stash and the backing was given to me by Kate .
This quilt will be donated to help someone who needs to provide much needed, yet very expensive medical care for their dog.

As I prepare to look at 2023 through the rear view mirror, I’ll take just a few moments to reflect on the old year. I met a few new friends along the way, and lost far more than I care to admit.

Like most folks, I have a few new goals for 2024. I’ll continue to volunteer at Second Harvest Heartland helping feed those who are food insecure. I’ll also sew and donate more quilts in an effort to raise money for the homeless and animals in need. Lastly, I’ll bring back the Etsy shop as a means to help finance the cost of fabric and thread.

I wish you all a bright and healthy future. May 2024 be kind to us all.

Happy New Year 🥂✨🐾

I really enjoyed adding the fun bones 🦴 and the heart ❤️ 🐾with paw print appliqué . .

Just finished the Book Review 📚quilt today. I made this quilt for my brother who took care of my cat, Mr. Butters.
Some of you might know Mr. Butters 😻was only supposed to stay with John for a month to six weeks, but he ended up living with him until he went to rainbow 🌈 bridge earlier this summer.

My brother is a retired English Professor, that’s why I did this Book Review quilt. He is also a world traveler 🌏, which is why I added the globe.
Since he is an alumni from the University of Michigan, I added fabric prints from his alma mater.
I’ll be gifting this 72”x 79” quilt to him and my sister in law when they visit me at the end of September.

What do you do with the leftover flannel from hand made receiving blankets? You buy a piece of matching backing fabric and make a baby quilt of course.
I made this for my neighbor, and giving it to them today.
It’s made with 120 5” squares, measuring 45” x 54”
This will keep baby Chloe nice and warm during these cold Minnesota winters.
I’ve been working on 4 quilts simultaneously. This is the second one completed.

Happy Throwback Thursday.

This photo is from last month when we drove up to .

I made a nice profit from the sale of the Dancing Tiles quilt ⬅️ swipe for photos.

Thank you for encouraging me to make this quilt for you.
The profits from the quilt was generously shared with Ruff Start Rescue. We also brought them some other useful items (dog food, toys, treats).
My joy comes not just from sewing, but in sharing.

Guess what’s new on my design wall! This will be a gift for my brother who is visiting in late September. He’s a retired professor and cat lover .
Got the pattern off Missouri Star .
I need to add an appliqué globe (wish me luck on that) as he’s also a world traveler. Will update my progress. I need to make about 80 more books 📚

When a friend of mine sent me a stack of dog bandanas from a family pet that had passed away, I knew what I wanted to do with them.

I found this pattern “All Wrapped Up” from and got to work on it.

My friend had no idea she would be getting these bandanas back in the form of a lap quilt measuring 44” x 58” .

The back is made with more scraps from my “doggie” fabric stash.
My first attempt of straight line quilting. I think my next one will be free motion quilted as I work on perfecting that skill.

I haven’t posted in months. Part of the reason is due to the time I spend working 👩‍💻The other reason is I was making this quilt for my family white elephant gift exchange we had over the holidays.
The quilt is called is made completely out of scraps from my fabric stash. It consists of 1,296 2.5” squares, and measures 65.5” wide x 76” long.
The back is made from 10” squares of more scraps from my stash.
The store is still on break. After my job finishes I’ll consider whether I will reopen it, or focus my time and attention on supporting fundraisers with hand crafted items.
Right now, I’m leaning heavily towards focusing on fundraisers.

Thank you to everyone who purchased items this week. You helped me reduce my inventory levels significantly.
I will continue to sew items for individuals and participate in fundraisers to help this community.

The Etsy store will remain open, but on a much smaller inventory level.
New Situpons and bandanas can be made to order!

📣BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 📣.
Three and a half years ago I opened MainStreetPup with the focus on making handmade situpons for pups who accompany their humans at pet friendly restaurants. Eventually I added more items to the store, including a wide variety of bandanas, dog diapers, belly bands, and blankets.

Through this journey I discovered the love of quilting and using my art to help others.

I recently accepted a temporary assignment with a company where I will once again work in the field of Benefits. While it is only temporary, it means I won’t have the time to manage the store for the next couple months.

Therefore, I am dramatically marking down all items in stock to reduce my inventory supply. Any items not sold will eventually expire from the Etsy platform, and will be donated.

I will continue to work with individuals and groups through instagram after the Etsy part of the business ends. Custom orders will be accepted as my time allows. .
I will continue to provide products to raise money for charity fundraisers as well.

I want to thank everyone for supporting my shop. Whether you know it or not you are important to me.
