On August 20th, Tracey saw a dog on her ring camera on her porch in the Catawissa/Numidia area. She contacted Krista but Tracey didn’t see him again. According to neighbors, he was being seen sporadically in the area but would take off running when anyone approached.
On Sept 14th, he showed up again and rested on Tracey’s deck over night. He made a “bed” on the patio furniture on her deck. She again contacted Krista, who then contacted Rox and they spoke with Tracey to set up a plan to secure him.
On Friday Sept 15th, Rox’s mom, Debbie, went over to get a lay of the land and to see if she could secure him. By the time she got there, he was gone. Krista contacted animal Resource Center and they agreed to take him if we can capture him.
The dog returned on Sat Sept 16th at 3:30am. We decided that Tracey should take his “bed” and put it in the corner of her shed and his food/water at entrance.
Rox went over in the afternoon to look around and examine the area to arrange for capture . She slowly approached the shed- surprised to find he was inside getting comfortable so she took the opportunity and quickly shut the door. He walked over to door and calmly sat down . She needed to determine his personality and she started to feed him treats through the door.
Derek and Lindsey (neighbors) came to assist her since she was alone. She also called her mom for additional assistance with this big boy.
Once everyone and everything was in place, she was able to sneak in the shed. He instantly went to her and was eating treats gently from her hand as she placed a leash on him.
Once out of the shed, he was a big love bug, giving hugs and wanting pets from everyone.
He was then transported to Animal Resource Center. Their staff was wonderful! He again, wanted hugs and love from everyone!
Many Thank you’s to Tracey, Krista, Debbie, Derek, and Lindsey. And thank you Animal Resource Center! Took a small village to get this boy safe!

We were contacted by Mommy and Me Rescue after they received a call from Donna about her new dog running away in Catawissa. We reached out to Donna and got more details about her dog, Susie. Later in the day, we drove to the location to set up comfort stations and cameras. While we were there, a sighting came in over the hill. We drove to the location but didn't see Susie. Off to finish more comfort stations and another call came in, in the same area as the last sighting. We drove back to the location and spotted Susie relaxing in a driveway. I slowly approached the driveway and sat down and used calming signals and she was curious for a little until another car pulled in and spooked her away. I watched as she trotted up through the field and lost visual of her when she crested the Ridge. We set another comfort station in the driveway. Sightings fell off for the night until Mary saw her when she darted across Rt42 around 10:45pm. That was the last sighting for almost 20 hours. We set up more comfort stations around the area and Donna's granddaughter, Clara met up with us to help.
I had just returned home when my camera at Donna's house started to ping repeatedly. It was Susie! In true lost dog behavior, she returned to the point of escape. I watched on camera, called Donna and headed back to her house with the trap. The whole drive there, the camera was pinging like crazy.
The trap was set and we sat in Donna's dining room and here came Susie. I watched her as she got a drink, sniffed the trap and began to circle the house. She would stop at the back door, cry and scratch and then circle to the front door and peek in.
NEW PLAN! WE opened both doors and sat and watched as she took a few steps in and back out. She did this for about 30 minutes at both doors until she finally started to sniffed Donna. I was watching from another room and decided it was time! Stealth mode kicked in and I quietly kicked off my shoes, exited another door, snuck up onto the porch and p
