❤️ Lover boy seeks a loving furever home ❤️
Ronald (or as we've been calling him, Ronin) is a big, boisterous, affectionate boy looking for new humans to serve - I mean - spoil him 😉
Unfortunately his owner is about to start chemotherapy and will not be in a position to give him the home he deserves.
Out of the six rabbits we have owned over the years, Ronin is far and away the most affectionate, most loving, most interactive bun that we have ever had!! He is very well socialized with people and has no qualms about greeting your guests at the door. He is bright, VERY curious (mischievous?) and unlike many rabbits, not at all shy! This makes him an amazing house pet, but does come with some caveats:
- Ronin needs to rule his kingdom (family) and be the only pet in your house (OR, needs a large family space separated completely from other critters). He is territorial with other pets and will not shy away from a fight.
- Like many boys, if left unattended or bored, he can get into trouble. He has mastered stairs, and especially likes to seek and destroy evil cords and cables. Adequate bunny-proofing is a must.
- LOVES treats. It's all fun and games until he starts getting bossy.
The Good:
- Litter trained! Ronin has proven to have good house manners when settled, but will mark his "territory" if other pets are around. In his personal space in our home, his toilet habits are excellent.
- Healthy! Ronin has no known health issues and has had his RHDV2 vaccine (exp. May 2022)
- Ronin is already neutered! Like many male buns, he will likely continue to mellow out as gets more mature.
- Family socialized: Ronin loves being in his home with his family and ADORES his people. Once he knows your routine he is about as chill as they come. He has no issues with the coffee grinder, loud music, or Vitamix running. He and the vacuum are still working on their relationship.
- Affectionate: I would normally never say this, but Ronin loves attention, pets, and kisses so much, and is such a cool dude, I actually think he would do well with a family with RESPECTFUL kids and responsible parents. Once he trusts you he will just about let you do anything, as long as he gets plenty of kisses in exchange. He wants to be the center of your life and attention.
- Tricks? Ronin is very food motivated, and smart. I suspect he would train quickly if someone was interested in learning bunny tricks with him. He will already "spin", and is learning "up".
We had truly hoped Ronin would fit in with the rest of our furry crew, but it's just not to be. He deserves somewhere he can be the main character of the show. We will be vetting homes and checking vet references if anyone is interested in having him. Any placement that doesn't work out, he is to be brought back to us immediately and we will happily wait with him until the right place comes along.
For the right family we are more than happy to help educate on house bunny best practices, tips for bunny proofing, advice on where to get supplies, etc. If you've never had a rabbit before but think you might be "the one" for him, please reach out to me! 🥰
