What is 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 Wool?⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
+ 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐲-𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 - it’s nothing more than a haircut for a sheep⁣⁣⁣
+ Eco-Friendly - Crafted from the world’s most fabulous renewable resource, wool⁣!⁣⁣
+ NO sheeps were harmed in the crafting of this art! ⁣
+ Wool is thermo-regulative, regenerative & durable⁣⁣⁣
+ Slow fashion⁣⁣
+ 𝘎𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘰𝘶𝘴! ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣You know how good you feel when you get a fresh haircut? Well imagine if that haircut was all over your body & only happened once a year - 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘱’𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺! ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We shear our wool the old fashion way - by hand, with love. The sheep really do look forward to it & do their happy dance for days afterwards! ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
And while many people undervalue the Navajo-churro wool, we cherish it. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
Each of these living wool pieces is a one-of-a-kind work of art. It takes hours of hard labor to create your living wool rug + shawl + couch throw + cushion cover + art piece + dog bed etc. & the possibilities of how you can use it in your home or on your body are endless!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
In my humble opinion, living wool is the absolute BEST way to put a sheep’s haircut to use! ⁣ ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣I like to say that the Navajo-churro sheep we steward do the hard part in crafting this art....growing the wool! It’s hard work lounging around at the base of the Crazy Mountains crafting fine wool & looking sexy. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I’ll be posting shop updates of all my living wool creations @ WildHomesteader.store in the next few days AND I still have time for 5 customer orders before Christmas. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
DM me to co-create your dream piece! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
It truly is the most unique gift you can spoil yourself or your loved ones with this holiday season. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Baaaaa! ⁣⁣

Hello Bozeman friends!

If you're reading this, you're a friend of mine and I probably don't need much introduction. ;-)

So here's the scoop.

I have an exceptionally special opportunity during my 40th trip around the sun and I need your support to make a dream a reality!

For those of you who don't know, I'm a Bozeman native & 4th generation Montanan. I also found out later in life that I am Native American of the Chippewa-Cree tribe.

My big news is that I have the great honor to ride in the Mongolian Derby in August!! As I was raised in poverty by a single mother, a life-changing chance of this magnitude is a phenomenal thing for me.

The Mongolian Derby is the longest, toughest horse race in the world. It entails riding half-wild horses across the Steppe for 632 miles.

The reason for this post is I am still quite short on my fundraising and sponsorships.

Do you have any recommendations of businesses local or otherwise who's values are inline with this awesome experience and might want to partner with me for a sponsorship?

Would you personally like to support me on this adventure?

Monetary donations, likes, shares & prayers welcomed!

Check out all the info 👇👇👇 & as always, stay wild!

Death is such an illogical thing. ⁣

This is the 19th time I've celebrated my mom's special day without her being on this physical plane. ⁣

Each year is so different. ⁣

Some years without her feel so heavy I can hardly rise out of bed, but mixed with today's sadness, I feel a tinge of gratitude. ⁣

Grateful for the fact that she's pure light now, no pain or sorrow. As always, grateful for the fact she was my mother. I don't know anyone else with such a fiercely funny + incredibly intelligent + always sparking + always positive + always lovely + perfectly adventuresome woman to shape them. If you were loved by Dinky, you walked the earth a lucky one. ⁣

Happy 74th mama...you were as much an angel this side of Heaven as you are right now. We'll be in the mountains raising a rootbeer with our tuna fish sandos just for you. ⁣

🍺♥️🐡⁣

Foraging season is upon us here in Montana & I couldn’t be more tickled. ⁣⁣🍄🌸💕⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣

Still taking donations in the Gallatin/Park County area until early next week!

It's food drive time!!! Doggo food that is. 🥰🐶🐱

Prairie Song Rescue in tandem with Montana Dog Company LLC is gathering food donations for Spirit of Imitáá on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation.

This lovely mama dog and her pups are currently enjoying their bark n' breakfast stay @ Spirit of Imitáá and are helping to raise awareness for the rez dog need for grub.

If you would like to donate to the cause, Prairie Song is transporting all donations straight to the mouths of many hungry pups in northwestern Montana.

DONATIONS CAN BE MADE at Montana Dog Company in Livingston MT or by messaging us here at Prairie Song and we can arrange pickup.

And as always, THANK YOU for your generosity and support for the creatures of Big Sky country.

All our wild love. 💚

Growing up, I sometimes found acceptance amongst humans to be difficult. ⁣

I was accused of being too inquisitive. ⁣

Too talkative. ⁣

Too poor.⁣

Too curious.⁣

Too wild. ⁣

Too this. Too that.⁣

Too much. ⁣

I tended to prefer the company of a loquacious little creek or a herd of horses. ⁣

And I still do at times....but as I've grown older, I am exceptionally fortunate to have the friendship, support & love of an excellent group of people & animals alike. ⁣

Recently, I've grown to adore a community of women who are beyond creative & astonishingly & unendingly accepting of all shapes and sizes and kinds and colors of people. ⁣

These are the women who have my heart - the ones who are drawn to the wild and the distinctive. The women who have each other's backs & lift each other up & share their strengths and tears the same. ⁣

and are two of these alluring souls & I'll forever be grateful for the way they've embraced me. ⁣

To see some of their pure magic, I encourage you to seek out a copy of Montana Woman Magazine. ⁣

Any addition will do, but if you'd like to learn a little more about me and my corner of the world along with the awe inspiring work of folks like + + many many more, check out the most recent publication -⁣

Issue 19: 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐝. ⁣

Your heart will be better for it. ⁣

All my wild love,⁣

Jess⁣
💚⁣
