Happy 6th Birthday Lily!! 🥳🩷

Last weekend we finished up her Rally Excellent title and got her first two legs toward Rally Master.

Today we got our first agility title with NADAC and officially caught the agility bug. 🫣
Now that she has simmered down a bit and I’m convinced she isn’t going to yeet herself off of the dog walk, we are hoping to do a lot more agility this next year.

As always, thank you to her breeder Karla for trusting me with such a special dog. She means so much to me and I can’t wait to see what we learn together next.

I’ve mostly been slacking on titling Ducky, so today she got her first AKC title - BCAT.
And she was the fastest herding dog of the day (combined trial score).

Yesterday we had a great day at Star City Canine Training Club’s Rally trial.

Pending AKC approval:

Strahd earned his Rally Novice title (RN) with a 97 (3rd place) and a 99 (2nd place).

Ducky is an absolute goof ball. Independent, food motivated, and so very sweet - even if she’s not the brightest crayon in the box. 😅 I absolutely adore this girl despite the teenage phase that we are currently in. She reminds be of Lily at this age, for better and worse. I’m looking forward to focusing more on her training and showing in 2024. I think this girl has a bright future ahead of her. 💜

Diba’s mom is totally in love with her. Despite Diba’s sass, I’m regularly told how well she fits in with her family and how she is everything that they hoped for. Diba’s handler focus is one of her best qualities and once her owners get a good handle on her off switch, I know that they will accomplish many things together. 💕

"Strahd" Speak with the Bleu Devil de la Bergerie d'Elan BCAT CGC finished his health testing and may be available for stud to approved females in the future. However, like always at Beaucerons du Cosmos I strive to be as transparent as possible. I am a firm believer that the information that hurts the most, is the information that we do not have.

That said, Strahd's OFA hip results came back with an unexpected note of "Spine: Spondylosis". Although he is only two we have not seen any outward evidence of this affecting his movement or quality of life and after discussing with our reproduction vet, radiologist and neurology team, it's unlikely that it ever will.

We did follow up with an OFA spine evaluation and unsurprisingly the results showed some spondylosis. Those results will be made public in the database soon and the radiographs will be added to this post when I have access to them. I have added the notes from my own vet in the images.

Spondylosis is often an incidental finding and although it's not something that we take lightly, it is also something that we do not feel should remove him from the breeding pool entirely. Myself and his co-owner Yvette Lear (Moon's End Kennels) will be very selective about who he is bred to and several extra stipulations will be put in place.

Any female that he is bred to must be checked by an experienced radiologist for spinal issues and ALL of Strahd's offspring must submit for OFA spine evaluation at age two.

No dog is perfect and health testing is and should be a tool to make better breeding decisions. My choices may be controversial at times, but I have been and will always be open to discuss with those who want to know more.

💙 Tengen is being a very good boy for his family and is slowly but surely finding his place in the pack.

He’s a bit spicy and has the attention span of the typical baby boy dog 😂, but he is doing so well with his training.

I can’t wait to see he and his people playing all of the sports one day. But until then, he’s growing into such a confident and happy young dog.

She is smart and focused with a whole lot of sass and a strong desire to work. She reminds me a lot of her mother.

This boy is still available to an active pet home or as a beginner sports dog. He’d probably be interested in nosework, barnhunt, fast CAT, or tracking - obedience and rally would take some extra work.

He is independent, curious and nose forward. Low food motivation. High prey drive. Medium-high energy. Very sweet boy.

💜 - Tova, my wild child.

Last but certainly not least, she has a chaotic energy that reminds me a lot of her mother. She is determined and resilient. An escape artist and an eager worker. She is very much a ‘bite first, ask questions later’ kind of gal. Likes to use her nose but wants to stick close to her pack. She is high energy but has good focus. Not fearful but definitely watchful - she isn’t the first to engage with something new. Usually in the middle of wherever the fun is and has opinions about waiting her turn. 🤨 I have high hopes for this girl and I can’t wait to see where the future takes her.
