We worked on some weight pull today, mainly desensitizing on sounds from behind and distractions (in the form of outdoor cats). We’ll be trying our hand at it in Oklahoma City for the Oklahoma Summer Classic at the end of the month!

I think Kaiser pulls off the sleddog look well!

Missed the memo, but yesterday was Dean’s Gotcha Day! A year ago, Kaiser and I drove out to Colorado for a surprise addition to our little club and Kaiser learned how to be a big brother.

Dean is such a happy, silly guy, who loves to run and bounce around like a rabbit. When he enjoys something, he excels in it, and many sports are in his future. So grateful for Michelle and ICE Alaskan Klee Kai for such a sweet boy.

Another FastCAT weekend in the books! Thank you NEOKC for hosting such a great event! Both Kaiser and Dean got their personal bests! Kaiser’s now only about 40 points away from his DCAT, and Dean earned his BCAT (and his speed average will be more accurate instead of his 12mph for top 20 AKK).

We headed to Berthoud, CO, over Mother’s Day weekend for the Trail Ridge Kennel Club Mother’s Day Classic. This show will always hold a special place in my heart as this was our first show with Kaiser two years ago and where he earned his Championship a year later.

With it only being her second licensed show, Cinder already earned her Championship and one leg toward her grand at 9 months old! (Big thank you to Alan Krenek for giving her the last set of CH points!)

Kaiser didn’t earn anything toward his Emerald, but he sure had fun enjoying the outdoors, and squeaked by with a couple reserves, one being to his dad.

Now, we’ll be wrapping up the spring season with a few FastCAT runs with Kaiser and Dean (and maybe squeeze a fun run in for Cinder) the last weekend of the month in Vinita, OK, then we’ll be at the Oklahoma Summer Classic for 5 days of FSS Open shows, three days of FastCAT, and maybe some other shenanigans!

We headed to Tulsa, OK, for the FSS show hosted by the Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa. Cinder was hesitant with a new handler in a much larger venue, but she still strutted some of her stuff. Kaiser seemed to have stayed in show mode and owned the ring effortlessly! With this win, he’s earned 2 points more toward his Certificate of Merit – 5 points down, 10 to go!

We had quite a weekend in Bowling Green, OH, for our first UKC show of 2024 with the Black Swamp Gun Dog Club! It was quite a long journey to drive from Oklahoma to Ohio, but it was time well-spent with friends and dogs!

Official photos are pending, but I am so excited to announce Kaiser has officially become a Grand Champion (and earned a DASH title on top of it)! So, pending UKC approval, we’ve officially got:

DASH GRCH ICE’s/Proper Air is of Silver

On top of that, this was Cinder’s first licensed big girl show, and she did great! She earned four Best Class Female competition wins and only has to earn 20 more points to earn her championship title (already!).

Today is Kaiser’s Gotcha Day! Two years ago, it was a regular Sunday morning of working some overtime when I got a random phone call from Sarah of Proper Klee Kai, telling me about this little boy and that I should sn**ch him up. A new pup wasn’t in the cards until closer to the end of 2022, so this was a surprise opportunity and I took it! Two days later, we drove to Cañon City to pick him up from ICE Alaskan Klee Kai. Despite the headaches he proudly causes, Kaiser is a good boy who has reignited a life of dog shows and sparked an interest in dog sports! Glad you joined our family, Mr. Kaiser!

For a brief amount of time, we can say all of our AKK are in the FastCAT Top 5 for Alaskan Klee Kai!

Points have been updated and Kaiser is only a little under 200 points away from earning his DCAT! Those will be obtainable easily within two weekends! If time slots are available, he will do some running this weekend in Claremore, OK, to inch just a little closer!

Very late since we were on pre-evacuation orders due to a fire, but 🎉 Dean turned one year old on March 5th! 🎉

Dean was a little bit of an unplanned addition to the pack, but he’s worth it! This adorable little squeaker grew up to be a very handsome bigger squeaker, who is a huge mama’s boy who loves to cuddle and have conversations. He’s like this obnoxious little brother to Kaiser, which he gets a taste of his own medicine with Cinder tormenting him!

Here’s a year to new things, from FastCAT (which he enjoyed) to Nosework to Agility! ❤️🎶

A Kaiser run from Saturday and a Kaiser run from Sunday! ☘️

Had a fun weekend in Vinita, OK, for the Running of the Shamrocks FastCAT run! ☘️

This kicked off our dog show/trial season of 2024 to start working toward Kaiser’s DCAT and introduce Dean to the sport!

Day 1, Saturday, just a day full of smoke because of a controlled burn!
Kaiser’s first run was done in 9.92 seconds, followed by his second run in 9.5 seconds, his personal best!
Dean NQ’d his first run, didn’t quite get it and ran back to start. It seemed to have clicked a bit in his second run, despite taking 33.78 seconds!

Day 2, Sunday, a day of cold wind!
Kaiser was just a wee slower today, coming in at 10.65 seconds and 9.9 seconds. He still did absolutely amazing and I’m so proud of this butt. He is over halfway toward his DCAT, maybe only needing another weekend to earn it!
Dean got it! He ran to his potential with both runs once he realized I was at the end of the track! He clocked in at 13.29 and 12.05 seconds! He might be faster than I anticipated!

Thank you ORCA for such a great weekend!

Kaiser and I finally got to snag a few practice runs since our intro class in December! We’re both definitely a little rusty, but since we’ll already be in Claremore, OK, helping with Shield Kennels and Yakuts of the OzarKs for some conformation shows, might as well do a trial!

✨🐾 Kaiser has officially passed all of his tests!

Kaiser had his OFAs for his hips and elbows completed on the 30th, two days after his 2nd birthday! (We weren't going to wait any longer!) His results have already been posted with great results -- his elbows came out as Normal and his hips as Excellent! I am so thrilled!
