I absolutely LOVED this class with Sasha Riess!! Way more than my brain could handle in a couple hours but WOW the use of the ‘golden section ratio’ in dog grooming made me thank every math teacher I’ve had in high school and college!! I did miss church though 😬
Best time to visit the new Starbucks in Woodward OK is 7:45am on a Sunday! Just walked my puppy Violeta and thought I’d try it out.
They have decaf espresso YEEEHAW!!! I can visit a coffee place again in Woodward!!! Can you imagine me with caffeine???!!! 😬🙄

Everybody be careful letting your dogs out, especially near the post office. My neighbor let her dog out last night about 10:30 PM and it was attacked right in front of her house by a coyote. If you see a coyote in town, please call the city and tell them what time you saw it, where you saw it, and what it was doing. Also call the game warden with the same information. Be safe!! - jennifer
I receive many requests on what to do about a dog who is getting very old, is in poor health, has a lot of pain, is incontinent, etc. I will ALWAYS refer to your vet for advice and recommendations as they have trained for years to know what to do.
In the event there is nothing left to do for your dog, you may need to choose to have them put to sleep. This is an extremely hard decision and one I had to make recently so my sweet amazing Dayzee could find relief from her constant pain.
No judgment on anyone who does or does not make this choice - please be kind and gentle with everyone about this subject. Here are a few things I found that may help when coping with losing a pet and the grief that comes with it.
Now go hug your dog, tell them that you love them and that they are the best doggie ever 💜

We have a new member of the Miller house!! Her name is now Violeta (Spanish for violet and no it’s not because of her legs which will be white again soon). She’s 5 months old, I’ve added her puppy photos they sent to us. It’s been 24 years since there was a ‘puppy’ in our house (our lab MidKnight)
We adopted her from Legacy of Hope Dog Rescue at an adoption event last Saturday💜

Heat risk has been much higher this afternoon than in recent days, especially across northern Oklahoma near a stalled frontal boundary. Remember to have water handy and take frequent shade breaks if you're outside this afternoon.
New groomer added to the Sigma Grooming LLC team and it looks like she does some cool ‘creative grooming’!
We are saying goodbye to Dayzee this week. It’s time. Thank you everyone for the last couple of weeks of showering love on us. She has been the best dog we could have ever asked for and she will be desperately missed. - Jennifer

We groomers are in the middle of a knowledge explosion that is revolutionizing our pet grooming industry; however, this explosion is still in process.
No surgery!
Just got back from my ortho appointment in Oklahoma City and for now I do not need surgery in spite of a tear in my rotator cuff. I do however, have 4 to 6 months of physical therapy and I will need to alter my schedule. I just don’t totally know what that looks like yet. I for sure will have to slow down, and if you know me at all you know that will be a difficult task for me to master.
Thank you, everyone for your prayers, cards, flowers, food, good vibes, hugs, and patience! I didn’t realize this old body wouldn’t do what I wanted it to do. I best take better care of it!
I’ll be talking to everybody soon and in the meantime… Be sure to brush your dog💜🐾🚐

I take Dayzee to see Dr. Barbie Phillips often! Definitely take time to give your animals some excellent treatment. By the time you SEE that they are in pain, most likely they have been in pain for a while. We LOVE Creation Chiropractic, PLLC
MRI and my Dayzee update:
Dayzee is experiencing a miracle I think and I’ll just gladly accept that! She has been breathing waaay better (less labored but still not ‘normal’), has been peppier, walks a bit better than even last week, and has gotten some of her toys out to play which she hasn’t done in over a month.
MRI results show tendonitis, lots of fluid, and probable tear in rotator cuff. Can’t see tear clearly because of all the fluid. Orthopedic referral in progress, will know more after that visit. Was encouraged and advised to take precautions not to cause further injury which would cause me even more pain.
I’m doing what I can to get some appointments taken care of but this may need surgery… at best several weeks of physical therapy and possibly out of work while I try to heal it. I’ve been trying to text everyone individually today but am not getting the job done as effectively as I would like. Hence the fb post and I apologize that you had to read this first rather than hearing directly from me. I’ll get you all contacted I promise.
In the mean time, hug your fur babies and give them kisses from me and PLEASE brush your dog 😉

Update: Dayzee has had an upswing and feeling peppier the last 2 days. Thank you for ALL the prayers and thoughts and messages and good vibes. We still don’t know what to do or what is wrong but we’re just loving and cherishing every moment with her 💜
She was able to handle a groom yesterday so she looks, smells and feels a lot better. And I was able to groom her with only a little uncomfortableness. Not her BEST look by far but she’s always gorgeous to me 🐾🙏🏼
Having a pet is a wonderful amazing experience!
You bond, play together, learn each others cues for things, and get to love and be loved unconditionally. I’ve heard it said that having a pet is “hundreds of days filled with joy and love… and one horrible day”.
I’m about to have a horrible day.
Dayzee, my sweet precious dog, is going downhill fast. Vet doesn’t know what’s wrong exactly and we (husband and me) don’t want to put Dayzee through the trauma of surgery again - she is 10 years old.
She’s my baby, I don’t have any human kids of my own. I wasn’t sure I was going to like Dayzee at first, she was so rambunctious! But our wonderful MidKnight (beautiful black lab who was 10 at the time and she was 8 months) taught her how to be a good dog. And I grew to love her in a way I didn’t know was possible. And when I started a new career at age 47ish, I named the business after her because it was and is HER dog spa.
For each person who has a dog in their care, this is an inevitable day you will face and making the humane decision to end their pain is so so hard. I have never envied anyone making that decision.
I’m not one to ask for prayers or good thoughts and vibes very much but if you think about it today, would you mind sending some this way please. I’m trying to be strong for her and brave in the face of a super tough decision. And I know this might be a “first world problem”, I get that, I do. But it is my problem and reality right now. She’s made it through cancer and a dog attack and traveled to Colorado many times and Montana a couple times and camped all over the place and walked at least a million miles with me. She’s been the sweetest friend and most gentle ally I’ve had the privilege to share my life with and I can’t believe this day is so close. She deserves the best I can give her so that’s what we’re going to do. I don’t have date yet but we know it will be soon.
Thanks in advance for thinking about her and us. And if I see you soon (hopefully I can get this shoulder craziness solved!) please don’t be offended if I can’t talk through tears or look like I’ve been in a fight with allergy meds (puffy red eyes). I’m just having to say goodbye to a friend and my baby.

I have many requests, almost weekly, to shave down a dog “because they are so hot”.
Dogs that do not ‘require’ a haircut (boxer, pug, Australian Sheppard, pomeranian, golden retriever, husky, etc.) do need coat maintenance to help them stay cool like deshed treatments, helping to get that undercoat removed so the guard hairs can do their job properly. These dogs have that grows to a particular length and then stops growing (like the hair on a human arm… think of it as fur). A Poodle, shih tzu, Maltese, most ‘poodle-mixes’, etc. do require a haircut because their hair grows and grows and grows to an indeterminate length (like the hair on a humans head).
When a dog is shaved (fur bearing or hair bearing), it can lead to major problems like heat stroke and skin conditions like alopecia and skin cancer.
Please research your pets needs before asking a groomer to “shave” them.
Please make sure your dogs are ready for July 4th. Gates secured and a plan for when the fireworks begin. Most dogs don’t like the booming and crackling.

Well I did it again! Just this morning as I was leaving for my first appt I tweaked my shoulder horribly bad (and I did such a small movement - reached out to stop the door from swinging open to fast).
I have to postpone all doggy appts for the next couple of weeks I am pretty sure because I’ll have to make up THIS weeks appts first. I’m so sorry everyone., I’ll be texting you all in a moment.

YAAAAAAYYYY! The Boiling Springs Pool is open July 2!!!
The moment we’ve ALL been waiting for….
We have a working pool, finally! We just need to stock up our concessions and do a few last minute opening tasks.
We plan to open TUESDAY, JULY 2nd! 🎉
Reminder- our hours will be 1pm-7pm, CLOSED ON MONDAYS. $4 a swimmer-CASH ONLY!!
🇺🇸 We will only be open from 1-5pm on Thursday, July 4th then return to our “normal hours” Friday.
We will continue this schedule until the first week of August & then will just be open Saturdays and Sundays until Labor Day!
We will do water aerobics from 11am-12pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in July. We will probably start that the following week! I’ll update on that a little later.

Using the new ducky for shampoos!! This helps to “froth” the shampoo making it easier to get the hair clean and rinse off more thoroughly. Is in required?? Nope but it’s fun!!

Update on the bus: I’m still out of commission. It was anti freeze leaking and the shop is taking care of fixing it and doing all of the things. But for now I’m still sans bus. Sorry everyone! This always hurts me more than it does you but I’ll get everyone rescheduled as soon as I can. On another note, here is a video of my neighborhood goslings! I LOVE SPRING! Come by Rotary Park soon to see their little fluffiness!! (but please drive carefully down 8th and 9th streets AND bring something good for their little tummies not processed bread).
